In autumn, in order to celebrate my wife's birthday, my family stayed with my father-in-law at the Peace Hotel next to the Bund on Nanjing East Road for one night. Late at night, lying in the soft bedding room, thinking about how many celebrities have lived here since the establishment of 1854, such as Chaplin, Bernard Shaw, Lu Xun, Zhou Enlai, Clinton, etc., I was so excited that I couldn't sleep, and I was confused for a while and woke up at three in the morning. Autumn is crisp and the temperature is pleasant. A strange idea flashed: why not go to the Bund to watch the sun go out!
When I was a child, I watched the sunrise in taishan jade Huangfeng. A large group of military academy students rushed from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain while taking advantage of the internship in the army. It was dark at the top of the mountain in the middle of the night. We wore rented military coats and stood on the wet rocks in the night fog, waiting for the sun to rise. At that time, we were young, energetic and full of ideals and dreams. I also watched the huge sun rising in the bathing water in the East China Sea with a group of children's literature writers in Zhejiang Province in Baibusha, Putuo Mountain. The bright fireball was stretched up and down and suddenly jumped into the air a few feet above the sea. The audience was moved to tears, and it is still fresh in my memory. What will it be like to watch the sunrise on the Bund today?
Until 5: 00 in the morning, before dawn, the street lamps shone on the ground alone, and the Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street was empty, in sharp contrast to the hustle and bustle last night. Walking to the intersection of Zhongshan East Road, I saw several taxis and buses passing by. The Bund sightseeing platform is even more "the dawn here is quiet", which is particularly spacious and empty. Buildings all over the world stand in the shadow of street lamps, as if sleeping in the dark. Only the lights of two tall clocks in the customs building, like a pair of protruding eyes, are watching the vicissitudes of this century.
The quiet river is extremely open. Occasionally, one or two cargo ships will run on the river, making a slight engine grinding sound, just like a slight drum sound. The most striking thing is the other side, the financial city that has risen in the past 30 years. At this moment, it is also half asleep. The dark building is lit by countless window lights, and the whole looks like translucent objects with different shapes. Even the most explosive Oriental Pearl Tower in last night's light show, besides flashing several rows of red navigation marks, stands quietly in a forest-like building.
The sky is getting brighter and brighter, and there are more and more pedestrians. Early risers come to the Bund to exercise one after another, and there are also a few tourists who wander around with professional cameras like me. When the music of "Dongfanghong" played over the customs building and the bell struck six times, the banks of Pujiang seemed to wake up instantly. There are seagulls flying on the river, and ships of different sizes file by downstream. Several kites flew, and one of them clearly wrote on its white tail: "Warmly celebrate the opening of China International Import Expo!" Red slogan on white background. Young members of the running group have gathered to prepare for sports, and photographers have set up cameras. The building lights in Lujiazui went out, and the whole bank stood on the water like a row of black sculptures, embedded in the background of milky white sky.
After about 10 minutes, the bottom of Lujiazui complex gradually turned gold, and gradually turned from gold to red, expanding upward and the area became larger and larger. The side of the building on the left side of the North Bund has been gilded by the sun, dazzling. Slowly, the high-rise buildings in Pudong are also inlaid with Phnom Penh by the sun, reflecting the North Bund from a distance. I think of a poem in Du Fu's Song of the King of Qi Painting Landscape: "How can you cut Wusong River with scissors quickly?" Although Du Fu was in Bashu when he wrote this poem, "Song Wu, the swordsman" was only an imagination of the poet, but the banks of Pujiang, known as the "first bay in Shanghai", were like two sides of a pair of scissors, cutting the surging river.
Suddenly, the sun appeared in the center of Shanghai and slowly looked up. The cracks in the building were filled with light. Finally, the sun is round and full, like a pearl sandwiched between the center of Shanghai and adjacent buildings. The flame it splashed on the river below, like a belt made of gold, closely linked Pudong and Puxi. "Aha," someone shouted from the sightseeing platform, and a foreign friend who was taking pictures nearby also exclaimed "How beautiful". The sun is rising along the body Ran Ran of Ran Ran in the center of Shanghai, and its dazzling light shines on the buildings on the Bund in Puxi, which makes these outstanding historical buildings formed at the beginning of the last century suddenly gain light and restore new vitality.
Welcome the first ray of sunshine on the Bund, feeling different from before! (Zhou Jianxin)
