As Premier Li Keqiang gave the answer, we should start from two aspects to crack down on the crime of abducting and selling women and children:
First, local governments should bear an important responsibility for the issue of trafficking in women and children, attach importance to the voices and interests of the masses, maintain a high-pressure situation, and form a joint force to punish trafficking in women and children. Those who neglect related work will be seriously accountable.
Second, at the legal level, the crime of abducting and selling women and children should be severely cracked down. According to Article 240th of China's Criminal Law, the crime of abducting and selling women and children shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than five years but not more than ten years, and if the circumstances are particularly serious, the death penalty shall be imposed. Article 241 of the Criminal Law stipulates that whoever buys abducted women and children shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, criminal detention or public surveillance. However, the death penalty can still be imposed for crimes such as rape and illegal detention.
In a word, combating the crime of abducting and selling women and children is more of a long-term success. We not only need to punish it at the level of rule of law, but also need to actively guide it in the social atmosphere. Pay attention to me, learn more law every day, take your time and make no mistakes.
