Suqian College is the product of the reform of higher education system in Jiangsu Province. In June 2002, we adopted the system and mode of "co-construction by provinces and cities, co-construction by eight universities, co-operation in running schools, and public-run and private-run", and cooperated with eight provincial universities such as Suzhou University to hold undergraduate education. 20 14, the school was approved by the Ministry of Education as an independent private undergraduate college; In 20 18, the school passed the evaluation of the provincial degree office and became the authorized unit of bachelor's degree; In 2020, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Suqian College was successfully transformed into a provincial-level public undergraduate college.

The school has 8 secondary colleges, 1 sports department and 43 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines such as engineering, literature, science, art, education, management, economics, law and agriculture. The school enrolls students from five provinces and regions in China, with more than 4800 full-time students/kloc-0. There are more than 700 full-time teachers in the school, and more than 260 people have been selected for various talent projects at provincial, municipal and school levels.

Since its establishment, the school has delivered 15 undergraduate graduates to the society, totaling more than 46,000. Comparable indicators such as graduation rate of CET-4 and CET-6, degree granting rate, employment rate and passing rate rank among the top universities at the same level inside and outside the province. The school has successively signed contracts with Suqian Municipal Government, Yang County Government and Suqian High-tech Zone to build Suqian College Industrial Technology Research Institute, Muyang Suqian College Science Park and Science and Technology Innovation Center.

Lead the establishment of 44 applied research institutions such as Suqian SME Development Research Institute; Cooperate with JD.COM Company and Alpha Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. to hold "JDCOM Business School" and "Suqian College-Alpha College", set up Yanghe College of Suqian College with Yanghe Co., Ltd., take the initiative to undertake the research work of Suqian section of the Grand Canal Cultural Belt, and set up Suqian Branch of the Grand Canal Cultural Belt Construction Research Institute. In addition, it has established close business ties with more than local 100 enterprises, and its ability to serve local economic and social development has been continuously enhanced.
