After several generations of persistence and improvement, the Federation of Associations has detailed and perfect management methods for its activities, personnel and finance. Compared with the Students' Union, sometimes the forms handed in by associations are really complicated and the number is slightly larger, but it is considered that most of the declaration and review steps are necessary to ensure the healthy, normal and safe operation of associations, and it is also the responsibility of associations.
Although sometimes there are some complicated processes (for example, the application activities need to hand in some forms to various departments), once the president is familiar with it, he can work on a one-stop assembly line. Moreover, these rules and regulations do not actually affect the autonomy, freedom and interest development of the association. On the contrary, however, the autonomy of associations is much greater than that of student union departments.
The association is completely independent in planning its own activities, arranging funds, recruiting members and other internal affairs, and there is no other organization to force the association. Student associations are student organizations with specific goals and activities, which are spontaneously established by college students to meet their own psychological, emotional, cultural, life and social needs.
Community is to develop students' interests independently, which is the biggest feature of community work. According to the characteristics of the community, there are several working ideas and suggestions:
First, because the association is free, the president will play a decisive role at this time. Some societies may suddenly rise because a certain president is excellent, and perform well for a certain period of time, but after the transition, the societies will perform flatly or even fall into a trough. When we manage and contact the community, we also find that the length of a period of time really affects all aspects of this community deeply.
Many leading organizations in xx campus have not performed well after the transition of xx campus, and only excellent presidents can bring out excellent organizations. How to make the community achieve sustainable development is a very difficult problem. First of all, the president of the association should be good at discovering talents around him, observing their ability and sense of responsibility, and paying attention to cultivating successors.
As an association, we will not and cannot interfere too much with the president's right to recommend successors, but we should do the president's ideological work well in advance before the change of office, so as to urge him to pay enough attention to the cultivation of successors and avoid individual presidents from recommending acquaintances based on personal relationships regardless of the overall situation.
In the presidential election, the Federation of Associations will still pay attention to the words and deeds of the candidates, and consider the candidates' stay as appropriate with full respect for the wishes of the president. After the transition, in addition to the usual training of presidents and directors, it is also necessary to explicitly encourage new and old presidents to communicate well in order to continue the experience, tradition and planning of the club.
Second, the freedom to declare interest groups in our school has been transformed into a formal organizational defense, although it is formal, but it also makes the number of organizations in our school continue to increase. Last semester alone, more than a dozen interest groups were established and five new organizations were born. Now there are more than 60 organizations in our school. According to this trend, in a few years, our school will form a situation of "Hundred Regiments War".
Although this situation reflects the rich extracurricular cultural life of modern college students to some extent, under the premise of limited resources, too many societies are really inconvenient to manage and develop, and a few societies are difficult to maintain because of difficulties in recruiting members or poor management of the responsible persons.
In order to solve these problems, the Federation of Associations asked seven departments to submit the minimum requirements of associations last semester, and formulated the demotion system of associations, which was approved by the Youth League Committee. Only two clubs were downgraded to interest groups at the end of last semester, because the first one could not be too strong. I hope this system can be improved and strictly implemented in the future.
Third, the theme of the association is free, but the structure of the association is unbalanced, the activities of academic and scientific associations are of low quality and the number of members is small. At present, the overall development trend of cultural and artistic and public welfare practice associations in our school is good, while the performance of sports and competitive associations is mediocre, while the development of academic and scientific associations is generally sluggish.
Students' participation in club activities is mainly driven by hobbies. Recreational and practical associations enrich students' after-school life and meet their needs, so they are widely welcomed by students. However, as an important carrier of scientific and technological innovation, it is difficult for academic associations to have such attraction. The whole society is full of impetuous atmosphere of quick success and instant benefit, and universities are not immune.
Few people can calm down and concentrate on their studies after class. A few academic research associations are also unable to produce high-quality academic achievements because of the lack of necessary support. Our association encouraged the activities of academic and scientific societies last semester, but the effect was not obvious.
It is a great pity that many academic and scientific groups find it difficult to carry out high-quality activities. This semester, we will continue to encourage academic and scientific associations to support them not only in spirit but also in activities. We will relax the assessment of their activities and try our best to help them solve their difficulties.
Fourth, members and directors are free to recruit and interview, but many members say that many associations have given them many promises when recruiting staff. Freshmen also have many illusions and expectations about the association when they first enter school, but after paying the membership fee, they find that the association is not what they imagined.
It is true that freshmen have just entered the school and are full of curiosity about college life. Their understanding of the club depends entirely on other people's narratives, so it is inevitable that they will pay lip service to it. As a club, we should actively introduce the club to the freshmen before enrolling students, and show the style of the club to the students through exhibition boards and radio, so that they can know which clubs are available in our school and what their characteristics are.
Only by letting them really know about the club can they join the club they really like and are interested in, instead of blindly joining the club for utilitarian reasons. In fact, this is not good for the development of the club itself.
Fifth, because the quality activities of students in our school are closely related to comprehensive evaluation, the clubs in Xindu Campus are different from those in Nanchong Campus in the past, and there are no specific requirements and methods for applying for quality activities, while the quality expansion of departments is relatively easy to apply for. Many societies are fully capable of organizing quality development activities at the college level. However, these associations often choose to organize quality development activities by contacting various departments.
In this way, the association spends manpower and material resources, and all departments only need to apply for high-quality development, which limits the autonomy of the association to some extent. Of course, we encourage cooperation and exchanges between associations and between associations and departments, but the premise is real cooperation. Last semester, with the approval of the Youth League Committee, the League of Societies began to declare and hold the quality development activities of the League of Societies in xx campus.
We will continue, develop and improve the application system for quality development activities in this semester, so that more capable associations have the opportunity to organize quality development activities independently. At the same time, we will also supervise the association to do a good job in quality development activities and live up to the name of the quality development activities jointly organized by the association. All the above are my own humble opinions, which are hastily brewed and shallow in knowledge. Please forgive me.
