Defending the Yellow River is the seventh movement of The Yellow River Cantata. The songs are sung in turn in chorus. It has a wide mass, and it is a song widely circulated by anti-Japanese soldiers and civilians. The whole song adopts March genre, short beat and inspiring tone, loud battle slogan, forceful rhythm, quick jumping motivation and gradually unfolding voice form, which makes the song full of vigorous feelings and vividly depicts the magnificent scenes of guerrilla athletes fighting for the protection of the Yellow River and China in green tents and mountains.
It expresses the author's praise for the heroes' anti-Japanese sons and daughters and his firm belief in the victory of the Anti-Japanese War.
