Decision of NPC Standing Committee on Amending the Law of the People's Republic of China on Population and Family Planning (adopted at the 30th meeting of the 13th NPC Standing Committee on August 20th, 2002/KLOC-0) The 13th NPC Standing Committee decided to make the following amendments to the Law of the People's Republic of China on Population and Family Planning:
1. Paragraph 2 of Article 2 is amended as: "The state adopts comprehensive measures to standardize and improve the quality of the population, promote the realization of an appropriate fertility level, optimize the population structure and promote the long-term balanced development of the population."
2. Article 11 is amended as: "The population and family planning implementation plan shall stipulate the regulation and control of population, improve population quality, promote moderate fertility level, optimize population structure, strengthen maternal and infant health care and infant care services, and promote family development."
Three, the second paragraph of article fifteenth in the "poor areas" is amended as "underdeveloped areas".
4. The first paragraph of Article 18 is amended as: "The State advocates marriage, childbearing and prenatal and postnatal care. A couple can have three children. "
One paragraph is added to Article 25 as the second paragraph: "The state supports the establishment of parental leave in places where conditions permit."
Article 26 of the intransitive verb is amended as: "Women enjoy special labor protection during pregnancy, childbirth and lactation, and can get help and compensation in accordance with relevant state regulations. The state protects the legitimate rights and interests of women during pregnancy, childbirth and lactation. Employment, and provide employment services for women whose employment is affected by childbirth.
