Background of setting up tuberculosis theme day:
1882 On March 24th, German scientist robert koch announced the discovery of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which brought a breakthrough in the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis. Since then, with the successful development of anti-tuberculosis drugs, the epidemic of tuberculosis has been effectively controlled and has disappeared in some areas. In order to commemorate Koch's great discovery, the World Health Organization and the International Union for the Prevention of Tuberculosis and Pulmonary Diseases decided in 1982 to designate March 24th every year as World Tuberculosis Day.
