Yushan used to be a big mound, also called Xiangzhong. According to legend, it was a centralized burial place in Qin Dynasty. The local people buried their ancestors with fish and soil, which accumulated over time, hence the name Yushan Tomb. 1962 was set aside by Mamiao People's Commune, and a people's commune was established under Yushanjiao, so it was named Yushan People's Commune. 1984, separation of government and enterprise, renamed Yushan Township. 1997 set up a township named yushan town. Jurisdiction over Eye Temple, Cuikou, Zhoulukou, Lishuanglou, Zhaotaizi, Fang Xun, Jingzhuang, Yangwa, Lihai, Gong Bing, Xililou, Xisunlou, Nanzhang, He Lou, Xiaozhaolou, Gecun, Liu Xi, Sanhe, Gaotang, Zhao Xi, Zhao Dong, Lianchi, Yangzhuang, Shidian and Liqiao. In 2008, with the approval of the provincial government, Jinxiang 18 villages were classified as Yushan Town.
