According to the decision on amending the Military Service Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) adopted at the 23rd meeting of the 11th NPC Standing Committee on October 29th, 2006/KLOC-0:
Article 67
Servicemen who refuse to perform their duties or flee the army for the purpose of evading military service shall be punished in accordance with the provisions of the Central Military Commission (CMC); If a crime is constituted, criminal responsibility shall be investigated according to law.
Active servicemen who have been expelled from the army for the acts mentioned in the preceding paragraph, expelled from the army or investigated for criminal responsibility according to law shall not be employed as civil servants or staff members managed by referring to the Civil Service Law, and shall not go abroad (territory) or pursue further studies within two years.
The people's government at the county level shall order it to make corrections and impose a fine; If a crime is constituted, criminal responsibility shall be investigated according to law.
