Overview of Gansu Iron and Steel Vocational and Technical College Gansu Iron and Steel Vocational and Technical College is located in Jiayuguan City, Gansu Province, a steel city in the west of China. Founded by jiuquan iron and steel (Group) Co., Ltd., it is the only higher vocational college sponsored by an enterprise in Gansu Province. Its predecessor was Jiugang Amateur Staff University, which was founded in 1978. With the approval of Gansu Provincial People's Government, the Ministry of Education 1982 registered and became a three-year staff university. In 2006, it was appraised by the Gansu Provincial College Establishment Committee, approved by the Gansu Provincial People's Government, approved by the Gansu Provincial People's Government (Han [2006] No.30) and filed by the Ministry of Education (Notice of the Ministry of Education on Publishing and Filing the List of Higher Vocational Schools), and transformed into an ordinary higher vocational college.
Jiugang Company is the largest steel production base in northwest China.
