First, Yang Xiu made a taboo in the ancient kingship struggle and participated in the power struggle.
Second, the identities and political ideas of Yang Biao and Yang Xiu conflict with the interests of Cao Wei regime. Mrs Yang Biao is Yuan Shu's daughter and Yang Xiu is Yuan Shu's nephew. However, Yang Biao and Yang Xiu have the same political ideas as Kong Rong and Mi Fei, so they are taboo.
When Yang Xiu was first appointed as the prime minister's main book, he was deeply trusted by Cao Cao. In the biography of the reflection of Cao Zhi, it is said that "twenty-five years of training is marked by the talent of a certain childe, and Mao is the leader", and it is also said that "at the right time, the military affairs are eventful, and the training always knows everything inside and outside, and it is inexhaustible. Now that Wang Wei has retired, he has tried his best to be a friend. " Looking at these two paragraphs, we can see two problems. First, Yang Xiu's talent is outstanding, so he was appointed as the editor-in-chief of Cao Cao's Both Inside and Outside, All the Best. In this way, Cao Cao should pay more attention to him and trust him at this time, otherwise he will not be given this position. Second, we can see from the sentence "Wang Wei has left and tried his best to be friends" that even Prince Pi wanted to curry favor with him at that time, and the word "He" also showed that there were many people who curry favor with him, not just the Prince, and it was conceivable that his position was important at that time. On the other hand, it can also prove that Yang Xiu should be trusted and relied on by Cao Cao at this time, and the relationship is relatively close. Otherwise, there would be no reason for the situation that "Wang Wei has gone out of office and is striving for friendship".
At that time, Cao Cao was hesitant about Cao Pi or Cao Zhi who would succeed Wang Wei as a prince.
Cao Zhi is a famous writer in the history of our country. Although Cao Piwen is also considerable, as far as literary talent is concerned, Cao Piwen's attainments in poetry and fu are longer than his brother Cao Zhi's. Therefore, Cao Cao, as a military strategist, politician, poet and many other outstanding literary talents in the Three Kingdoms period, may begin to be more inclined to Cao Zhi in his heart. Because Cao Cao has a poet's wild temperament, Pei Songzhi quoted the biography of Cao Zang as saying: "Mao is easy to lose weight, good at music, and advocates Excellence, often until dusk. Dressed lightly, I will wear a small pocket to hold towels and exquisite things, or wear a hat to meet guests. Every time I talk to people, tease them and laugh happily, they eat and drink so easily, and Cao Zhi is quite fatherly. "Biography of Cao Zhi" says that he is "simple in nature and does not care about dignity. "Ma Yu's clothes are not gorgeous," he said. He was good at writing since he was a child. "After the age of ten, he read poetry, spoke hundreds of thousands of words, and wrote well. Taizu tasted it and said, "Are you evil? "Zhi knelt down and said," What you said is what you said, and what you wrote is what you wrote. You should be interviewed. Who are you? "At that time, Ye Tongjue was too new town, and Mao learned that all the philosophers were going to go to power and let them do their jobs. Planting aid is a great achievement, which is very different from Mao. Answer every time I see a problem, so Cao Cao "loves him." "Biography" records: "Cao Zhicai is different, rockett, Ding Kuang, wing. Mao is suspicious, and a few are princes. "That is to say,' s almost become a prince several times. Among them, Ding Yi, Ding Ke and Yang Xiu, as the backbone of Cao Zhi's think tank, played a great role, but Ding Yi and Ding Ke brothers had personal grievances with Cao Pi. The cause of the incident was that Cao Cao felt that Ding Yi's father advised him to see the contribution of Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty and wanted to marry his daughter. As a result, Cao Pi dissuaded him from saying that Rockett had bad eyes. As a confidant of Cao Cao, Yang Xiu must be the object of contention between Cao Zhi and Cao Pi. As a world-famous wit, Cao Zhi may be more interested in Yang Xiu, and Cao Zhi's "special love" at this time is also positive, so Yang Xiu took part in this cruel struggle for power.
However, although Cao Zhi and Cao Pi are superior in literary talent, it should be said that Cao Pi is superior in politics and military affairs. And the think tanks around them are different. Cao Pi's think tanks are Sima Yi, Chen Qun, Wu Zhi and Zhu. The Book of Jin says that these four people are called four friends around Cao Pi. Among these four people, Sima Yi and Chen Qun's political talents and strategies should be recognized as the best choice among the counsellors in the Han and Wei Dynasties. Wu is deep in calculation and good at literary talent, Zhu. However, Cao Zhi's think tanks are all scribes with little political and military experience, far less sophisticated than Sima Yi, Chen Qun and Wu, and naturally they will suffer in the struggle. There is a record in Pei's biography of the Three Kingdoms Cao Zhi that the so-called "gifted scholar" was defeated by Wu Zhi, who was only a long history at that time, which directly led to Cao Zhi's suspicion: "In the twenty-five years of Xiu, a gifted scholar, Mao and Ding Yi both wanted to take plants as their heirs. The prince suffered from it and was abandoned in the car. The singers of the imperial palace were Wu Zhi and Mou. It's too late to take the exam with Bai Taizu. The prince was afraid, told the quality and said, "What's the matter? Tomorrow, you will be confused by the silk car. If it is repaired, it will be white, and if it is white, it will be pushed. Without inspection, you will suffer. "The prince followed, and the fruit was white, but no one was there. Mao suspected it." Sun Tzu's art of war has a cloud, know yourself and know yourself, and fight every battle. Wu Zhi can be said to be the enemy and know yourself, fighting a hundred battles, and Yang Xiu has a bad reputation. Unfortunately, he was not as wily as Wu Zhi, and his thoughts and actions were all in his expectation, so he was blindsided and even his master Cao Zhi was suspected. It's really hard to say The rest, such as explaining that the word "live" added by Cao Cao in the newly-built garden gate is too wide, explaining that Cao Cao wrote "one-in-one crisp" as one crisp, and Cai Yong inscribed "yellow silk young woman, grandson mortar" as "wonderful and good". (3), can only explain Yang Xiu smart, but also can only say that he is smart. Since then, because Cao Zhi's literary talent is excellent, he is really no match for him, and he is anxious to "lose himself". Wu Zhi once again reversed the situation, which made Cao Cao have another opinion of Cao Zhi: "Wang Wei tasted the war, and the prince and Hou Zhi were sent to the roadside. Plant said merit, words have chapters, left and right eyes, Wang Yi Yue Yan. When the prince was disappointed, Wu Zhier said, "Wang Dangxing can shed tears. "Besides, you cry and worship, and your left and right sides are salty and sad, so they are all sincere." Wu is very thoughtful this time, which is much more practical than the crossword puzzle.
In this way, under the planning of the four friends, Cao Pi gradually gained the upper hand in the battle for official positions. At the same time, he launched a public relations offensive in time to shape his image. "Emperor Wen faked it by art, and (Cao Cao) was around the imperial secretary, saying it" (5). At the same time, Jia Xu, Cao Cao's counsellor, and others were wooed, and the poet's wild wind often broke out in Cao Zhi's body. "Wild planting, no self-stimulation, and unrestrained drinking" (6), Cao Zhi begins. At this time, another great event happened, that is, Cao Zhi galloped on the Chidao of Yecheng, the capital of Wei State. Chi Dao is a special way for Cao Cao as Wang Wei. In doing so, Cao Zhi could call himself Wang Wei, so Cao Cao was furious, and the result was that "the bus let him sit dead." Therefore, the princes banned it, and the pets declined "(7). Cao Pi's last and most important role as a prince is a sentence from Jia Xu, Cao Cao's counselor. According to the legend in the reflection and Jiaxu, "At that time, Wendi was a general with five senses, while Hou Zhicai, who was dying, was famous and had different parties to discuss how to seize the clan. Emperor Wen asked people about the skill of self-reliance, saying, "May the general restore respect for morality, devote himself to the career of scholars, and work day and night, without violating the teachings of his children. "That's all." Emperor Wen followed it and was deeply motivated. Mao tried to screen out the left and right sides and asked Xu, Xu hey was wrong. Mao said, "What's the point of not answering your words?" Xu Wei said, "It is appropriate to think, so it is not for the ears." Mao said, "What do you think?" Xu said, "I miss Liu Jingsheng." Mao laughed, so the prince decided. "Therefore, despite his poetic temperament, Cao Cao is first and foremost a politician. Jia Xu showed him the advantages and disadvantages and lessons of that era on the issue of heirs. For him, maintaining the stability and longevity of the regime after death is the first priority, and everything else can give way, including his own personal likes and dislikes. Guo Jia, Yu Xun and others all said that he was good at judging his own strengths, so he immediately made a decision. In the 22nd year of Jian 'an, Cao Pi was named Wang Wei. After Cao Zhi lost power and influence, Yang Xiu once deliberately alienated Cao Zhi, but because Cao Zhi was Cao Cao's son after all, he dared not be too obvious, so he kept a certain density. It can also be seen that he is relatively lacking in political adaptability.
However, after dealing with the issue of heirs, Cao Cao immediately started from a political point of view, considering the consequences of the dispute between Cao Zhi and Cao Pi, because there were a group of counselors around him, and Cao Cao knew the power of counselors, so in the autumn of the twenty-fourth year of Jian 'an, Yang Xiu was finally beheaded in the army to save Coss. "The History of the Three Kingdoms" says: "Mao has been worried about its changes from beginning to end, and he is quite talented. Yuan's nephew is also guilty."
Here, first of all, I said "the change from beginning to end", plus "the ingenious plan" and "Yuan's nephew", so I killed him. It can be seen that he was killed not only because he participated in the seizure of office, but also because of his "talent policy" and "Yuan's nephew".
However, it is only a talented strategy that will not be beheaded by Cao Cao. Cao Cao's advisers and ministers are like countless carp crossing the river, Jia Xu, Yu Xun and Xun You, uncles who know the art of war and politics, and Cheng Yu, who is courageous and resourceful. These people are far more capable in military and political affairs than Yang Xiu, but they were not killed by Cao Cao because of their talent. "Nephew Yuan" can't be killed alone, just like Pound is famous for his bravery under Ma Chao, his own brother is an official under Liu Bei, and Cao Cao used him and Coss to deal with Guan Yu (9). It can be seen that even if he is talented and Yuan Shu's nephew, he will not be killed. The second reason is that Yang Xiu and Cao Cao have different political views, so they are taboo.
Yang Xiu's father, Yang Biao, was an orthodox Confucian, while Cao Cao was an informal reformer. In the first year of Jian 'an, when Cao Cao welcomed into Xuchang, the capital of Emperor Xian of Han Dynasty, Yang Biao, as a minister, had some opinions on Cao Cao. "Take the first year, from the east. When the son moved to his new house that day, Cao Cao, the main book of the conference and the secretariat of Yanzhou, went to the temple and was unhappy when he saw the tiger color. I was afraid of this picture, but I didn't get a party, so I got sick and went to the toilet. I went back to the camp. And "(Jian' an) four years, returning to worship too often, exempt from ten years. "Eleven years, who is kind to hou, hou. It is obvious that the left hand of Han Dynasty will be exhausted, which means that the foot contracture will no longer work, and it will accumulate for ten years "(10). Take the History of the Three Kingdoms as an example. In May of the eighteenth year of Jian 'an, the Emperor ordered Lv Chi, an ancient imperial adviser, to hold a ceremony and ordered Cao Caowei. In the summer of May of the twenty-first year, he was promoted to Wang Wei. This cloud "... Biao met the generals of Han Zuo in the eleventh year of Jian 'an". The reason is that in the first year of Jian 'an, Cao Cao was "angry" when he saw the son of heaven. Therefore, in the second year of Xingping, Cao Cao implicated Yang Biao in the case of Yuan Shu's tyrannical son of heaven on the grounds that Mrs. Yang Biao was Yuan Shu's daughter, with the intention of getting rid of this political enemy. At this time, another minister, Kong Rong, who had always opposed Cao Cao politically, made friends with Yang Biao. When he heard about this, he didn't even have time to wear a royal costume, so he came to see Cao Cao and said, "Yang Gong IV was virtuous and admired by the whole country. In Zhou Shu, the sins of father and son are different, so Yang Gong was accused by Yuan. "Yi" called "Ji Yu", which is just a lie. Cao Cao argued: "The meaning of this country. "Kong Rong immediately said," If the King of Qi killed Shao Gong, can the Duke of Zhou say that he doesn't know evil? " And continue to blackmail Cao Cao, "if you kill innocent people today, you will listen at home, who will not collapse!" "Kong Rong, a native of Lu, will leave tomorrow." At this time, Cao Cao's foundation in the DPRK was shaky, his wings were not yet full, and he had to buy people's hearts with celebrities such as Kong Rong, so he had to "manage the tiger." And Kong Rong, also a savage who is good at speaking freely, had several unpleasant experiences with Cao Cao when he was implementing the new order. Cynical. At that time, because of frequent wars and famines, the people were miserable, and Cao Cao ordered the prohibition of alcohol in order to save food. Kong Rong wrote sarcastically to Cao Cao, saying, "There is a star of wine flags in the sky, and the county of Jiuquan is located on the ground. People have the virtue of wine, Yao can't be holy without drinking a thousand bells. Besides, when Lv Chi, an adviser to the ancient empire, learned about this, he was "relieved of being an official". Knowing that he "has no electricity at home and the guests are full every day", he also "often sighs:" The guests are always full, and the wine in the bottle is not empty, so I have no worries "; After Cao Cao defeated Yuan Shao, Cao Pi married Zhen Shi, the wife of Shaoziyuan, and quipped, "The King of Wu attacked Zhou and gave da ji to the Duke of Zhou." Cao Cao, because Kong Rong was learned, thought it was recorded in a book biography, so he asked the source of Kong Rong. Kong Rong said "it's only natural" (1 1), so Kong Rong was finally killed by Cao Cao under an excuse. His best friend Mi Fei was exiled to Liu Biao because he looked down on Cao Cao. The result was not liked by Liu Biao, but was killed by Huang Zu of Liu Biao. When commenting on Xu Changren, Mi Fei said "Kong Wenju, the eldest son, and Yang Dezu, the youngest son", which means that only these two people are taken seriously, and the others are insignificant. Kong Rong praised Liu Bei more than Cao Cao, and they despised Cao Cao and important officials of Cao Wei, such as Yu Xun, Chen Qun and Sima Yi (12). Therefore, it can be said that they are opposed to the Cao Wei regime everywhere. Unfortunately, they have no ability and strength to confront it politically and militarily, so they can only take advantage of it verbally and finally be cut off by Cao Cao. So the second reason why Yang Xiu died was that he was a member of the political camp opposed to Cao Cao, not just because he was talented, but because he was Yuan Shu's nephew.
