Jiajiang County is located at the northern foot of Mount Emei, which is the transition zone from the southwest edge of Sichuan Basin to the middle mountain area of Mount Emei. The mountain range above 1000 meters in the west of the county belongs to Emei Mountain. The Qingyi River basin in the middle is the floodplain and valley, and the Qingyi River is the narrowest at Qianfo Rock, with Mucheng Dam in the upstream and Yungang Dam in the downstream. Hills and terraces are in the east. The whole terrain from northwest to southeast constitutes a clear landform outline of mountains, flat dams and terraces. The highest point of Jiajiang County is Doulikou, Ma Xie Township, with an altitude of1451m (1997 county boundary map), and the lowest point is the Qingyi River exit of Ganjiang Town, with an altitude of 380 m.
The mountains, hills and dams in Jiajiang County each account for about one third. The western low mountain area is 349,400 mu, accounting for 3 1. 12% of Jiajiang county. The terraced fields and hills in the central and eastern regions cover an area of 373,300 mu, accounting for 33.25% of Jiajiang County. Mucheng Dam, Yungan Dam and Jinniu River Dam cover an area of 329,500 mu, accounting for 29.35% of Jiajiang County. Another natural water area is 70,400 mu, accounting for 6.28% of Jiajiang County.
