Our army has a health team (deputy battalion level), a health camp in the brigade, and a health brigade (or field hospital, deputy regiment level) in the division. In addition, our military hospital also has a field health camp, and the Ministry of Health of the Military Logistics Department also has a separate reserve health camp.

Foreign troops usually have health camps only at the division or brigade level.

In addition to the battalion headquarters and units (platoons) directly under communication and logistics, the health camp is generally equipped with medical equipment, ambulance, transportation, battlefield epidemic prevention and security companies, with a staffing of about 300-450 people. The number of foreign troops is even higher. It can be seen from the establishment that there are not many medical staff in the health camp, but most of them are related to medical treatment. They are typical professional and technical teams, and officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers can be collectively referred to as "medical service personnel" or "medical service combatants".

Health camp is an important force to provide medical security in regional battlefields. Generally, under the direct leadership of the leading organs of the subordinate units, they perform tasks such as battlefield rescue, receiving before delivery, storage and transportation of medical materials, and guiding and supporting the health work of the subordinate units. According to the need, it can also be directly called by the superior troops.

The usual work of the health camp is under the centralized management of the medical service department (branch) of the logistics organ of the subordinate army (foreign troops are managed by the medical service department of the headquarters).
