It is not difficult to see that there are three undisputed candidates for each statement, and the remaining two places are constantly changing. These three people are Qi Huangong, Jin Wengong and Chu Zhuangwang, so why are their dominance universally recognized?
Let's first understand what is the overlord in the Spring and Autumn Period. Both the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Eastern Zhou Dynasty adopted the enfeoffment system to govern the world. Zhou Wang, as a princess, ordered the vassals in the world, and the vassals undertook some domestic governance tasks and foreign crusade tasks. Therefore, the power of governors is relatively large. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, Zhou Wang's strength was still relatively strong. All the princes in the world obey Zhou Wang's orders. In the Western Zhou Dynasty, the imperial clan was strong, and the princes of the world merged for many years. The strength of some princes has surpassed that of Zhou Tianzi, but from the sense of justice, there is no way to directly replace the status of Zhou Tianzi, so they have a new title, called overlord. Once these generals have their own political opinions and do something, they will be respected as hegemons by other vassal States. These people are the five tyrants in the Spring and Autumn Period that we are discussing today.
To sum up, Qi Huangong, Jin Wengong and Chu Zhuangwang can be recognized as the five tyrants in the Spring and Autumn Period by all history books, which is inseparable from the achievements and background of Hemen.
Qi Huangong
Qi Henggong carried out some reforms when he was in office, which directly led to Qi becoming the most powerful vassal state at that time. Later, Qi put forward the slogan of "respecting the king and resisting Japan". Under the leadership of Qi Henggong, the whole State of Qi fought in the forefront of resisting foreign enemies and directly won the respect of other governors. According to historical records, Qi Henggong presided over fifteen governors' meetings to resist foreign aggression.
Jin Wengong
Three of the Seven Heroes in the Warring States were split from the State of Jin, which is enough to show how powerful the State of Jin was in its heyday. After Jin Wengong defeated Chu in the Battle of Chengpu, he directly established the hegemony of the State of Jin. Since then, Jin Wengong has adopted the hegemonic mode of Qi Henggong, presided over the governors' summit for the second time, and declared himself the leader of the governors.
Chu Zhuangwang
After Jin Wengong, the world was divided into two alliances, namely "Central Plains Alliance" and "Southern Alliance". The former is led by the State of Jin, while the latter is led by the State of Chu. Because of Jin Wengong's crushing defeat of Chu in the early stage, the "Central Plains Alliance" has been faintly pressing the "Southern Alliance". This situation lasted for many years, until the appearance of Chu Zhuangwang, which made a blockbuster and directly defeated the 8 Jin Army in the Battle of Tai.
Chu Zhuangwang
As for why other hegemons are not recognized, the only reason is that because of the limitations of their achievements, they may be invincible at some point, or destroy the recognized hegemon country, but they basically have little influence in the Central Plains and cannot be recognized by the princes. The historical records of later generations are naturally controversial.
