Robert B. Woodward, the father of modern organic synthesis, is an American who won the Nobel Prize in 1965 for his achievements in the art of organic synthesis. /kloc-went to MIT at the age of 0/6, finished his undergraduate course in three years, and got his doctorate in 1 year. His famous saying that "there are excitement, adventure and challenges in organic synthesis, and there can be great art" has influenced many organic synthesis chemists.
