I believe no one will deny Sima Xiangru’s literary attainments. His representative works "Zixu Fu" and "Shanglin Fu" have provided many places for reference and learning for future generations. During the period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, no one could compare with Sima Qian in writing essays, and no one could compare with Sima Xiangru in writing poems.
Sima Xiangru's "Zixu Fu"
Sima Xiangru was already an official in the court during the period of Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty, and wrote "Zixu Fu" while traveling in Liang. However, because Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty had no special interest in poetry and poetry at that time, even though Sima Xiangru wrote such a good article, he was not appreciated by Emperor Jing. When Emperor Wu of the Later Han Dynasty came to the throne, he accidentally saw "Zixu Fu" and spoke highly of it. He mistakenly thought that it was written by a previous scholar, which made him regretful. The eunuch serving Liu Che at that time learned of this and informed Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty that "Zixu Fu" was written by Sima Xiangru. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was overjoyed and summoned Sima Xiangru. Later, Sima Xiangru wrote another "Ode to Shanglin" and was named Lang by Liu Che.
"Zixu Fu" is mainly divided into three parts. The first part describes Yunmengze's natural features and rich folk customs, the second part describes the scene of King Chu's hunting, and the last part describes Mr. Wu You's criticism of Zixu.
Zixu arrived in Qi as an envoy from Chu and visited Mr. Wu You after hunting in Qi. Zixu showed off to Mr. Wu You, saying that the vastness and richness of Chu State was not comparable to that of Qi State. Mr. Wu You was dissatisfied and asked Zi Xu to count the mountains and rivers of Qi. Mr. Wu You thought that Qi State was kind to entertain Zixu, but Zixu misunderstood it as showing off. Zixu's excessive exaggeration of Yun Mengze not only failed to show the strength of Chu's national power, but also damaged Chu's reputation.
The entire text is full of gorgeous words, grand scenes, and exquisite descriptions. With such exaggerated writing, it shows the majesty of the Han Dynasty today and was loved by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty.
Sima Xiangru's phoenix begging for the phoenix
Today, idioms such as the harmony of the phoenix and the phoenix, the harmony of the phoenix, and the harmony of the harp and harp are commonly used to describe the love between husband and wife, beautifying the behavior of a man expressing his admiration for a woman. The phoenix seeks the phoenix. The famous poem "Feng Qiu Huang" in history was written by the Western Han Dynasty writer Sima Xiangru. He poured his own voice into "Phoenix Seeking Phoenix", allowing Zhuo Wenjun to feel his gradual love, and finally he embraced the beauty.
Sima Xiangru's Phoenix Seeks the Phoenix
The original text of "The Phoenix Seeks the Phoenix" is "The phoenix comes back to its hometown, and travels around the world to seek its emperor. There is no chance to meet, and there is no general. How can I be promoted to the hall now? There is a beautiful lady in the boudoir, and the people in the room are poisonous to my intestines. . Friendships are harmonious and the hearts are harmonious. Who knows each other in the middle of the night? The two wings fly high, and I feel sad."
Sima Xiangru compared himself to a phoenix and Zhuo Wenjun. Compared to a phoenix. The phoenix begging for the phoenix shows Sima Xiangru's infinite love and pursuit of Zhuo Wenjun. Sima Xiangru said that since returning to his hometown, he has been searching for the love of his heart for a long time, but it is a pity that a good match is rare. After seeing Zhuo Wenjun's ladylike temperament, I fell in love with her. I wonder if it is fate to become a couple and go hand in hand. Once identified, Zhuo Wenjun is the place where he lives and stays. Sima Xiangru boldly called Zhuo Wenjun's arrival in his poem and wanted to marry him. Even if the two of them elope overnight, no one will know that they are in love. Zhuo Wenjun is told not to let himself down and feel sad because he misses her.
Their romantic story begins with the song "Phoenix Seeking Phoenix", a passionate and bold confession that no one can refuse. After the whole poem was unrestrained, lingering, charming and fresh, many literati, generally those with some literary attainments, used it as a love poem to express their love for their spouses.
Sima Xiangru's Nagato Fu
One day of glory and one day of mourning, I still remember the story of "a beautiful woman hidden in a golden house" that made many concubines in the harem envious. In the blink of an eye, the queen Falling into Nagato Palace was extremely desolate. Chen Ajiao, the empress of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, was said to be jealous, but Emperor Wu ignored her and was demoted to Changmen Palace. The queen found Sima Xiangru and asked him to write a poem. Sima Xiangru then wrote "Ode to Changmen".
Sima Xiangru’s Nagato Fu
The opening chapter of the poem describes the lonely and miserable scene of Empress Chen in the deep palace. Although Queen Chen is beautiful, she is haggard alone. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty was displeased. Emperor Wu fell in love with other concubines, but never saw him again. In fact, everything he did was because he loved Emperor Wu and wanted to win Emperor Wu's favor, but unexpectedly everything backfired.
Empress Chen now makes her bed every day and waits for Emperor Wu's arrival, but she always waits from dusk until dawn. Nagato Palace is very lonely, there is no sound in the corridor. Empress Chen went up to the Orchid Terrace every day to look at Emperor Wu from a distance, and she was in a trance as she watched, but Emperor Wu still didn't come. The weather suddenly changed, the clouds turned black, thunder was coming, and the strong wind made the bed curtains whistle. The trees were shaking, and the fragrance of the flowers was shaken out, but there was no one around me to rely on. Looking at the palace, the doors and windows are carved from jade and made of the finest magnolia wood. The relief is very luxurious, and the whole thing is so luxurious that it shines with golden light, but so what, there are only maids and eunuchs around Queen Chen, not her beloved.
After Empress Chen got this Fu, she sent people to recite it every day, hoping that Emperor Wu would change his mind after hearing it, but she failed to win Emperor Wu's heart after all. After her mother's death, Queen Chen lived a very sad and depressed life, and soon passed away.
Sima Xiangru's famous saying
"If you want to win the person of your heart, we will never be apart until we grow old together." It is often seen in ancient novels that the hero and heroine use this as a love vow to express the sufficient trust between two people. When the relationship between the hero and heroine suffers setbacks or misunderstandings, reading this sentence can recall the previous love and friendship between the two and resolve the past feud.
Statue of Sima Xiangru
This poem comes from the love story of Sima Xiangru and Zhuo Wenjun. Later generations often regard this poem as a famous poem by Sima Xiangru, but it was actually written by Wenjun. The first two sentences are "It's miserable again and again, there's no need to cry when you get married."
In order to stick to his love with Sima Xiangru, Zhuo Wenjun did not hesitate to escape. The latter two were very poor, and Zhuo Wenjun opened a wine shop and sold alcohol on the street. Her husband, Zhuo Wangsun, was reluctant to let his daughter work so hard, so he gave Zhuo Wenjun and his wife some money, land and servants to make their life more prosperous.
Sima Xiangru was going to Beijing to take the exam, leaving Zhuo Wenjun to live alone in his hometown. When Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty came to the throne, Sima Xiangru was appreciated by Emperor Wu for his "Zixu Fu" and became famous. Soon after, Sima Xiangru wrote a letter to Zhuo Wenjun, expressing his wish to take a concubine. Zhuo Wenjun wrote a song "Baitou Yin" as a reply.
Zhuo Wenjun used the word "miserable" twice to show that he was very miserable and sad after being abandoned by her husband for the second time. Her heartache is not something that ordinary women can feel. There is no need for a woman to cry when she gets married. Although she has left her parents, she is still loved by her husband. Zhuo Wenjun was determined to leave home and elope with Sima Xiangru, thinking that there would be a happy ending. Now, Zhuo Wenjun is about to lose even her husband's favor. But Zhuo Wenjun is not a woman who only tolerates and cries. She said, if you can't be the only one in your heart, I will leave; if you can come back, I will never leave. "The Song of the White Head" has become a work that Sima Xiangru and Zhuo Wenjun broke up with each other, which should not be lamented.
