Put the old pigeon's head in the water for 3~5 seconds, will it forget its original home?
Adult pigeons, namely: 180 days -5 years pigeons. At this time, pigeons are very mature, and it is also the most difficult time to open a home. At this time, the pigeons have deep feelings for their original pigeon house and a strong desire to return home. After the experiment, I found that if you match according to what others say, you should let go when raising young, but this method has little chance of success. Really strong good pigeons, maternal love, father love or marriage feelings, can't compare with their homesickness! Often some adult pigeons will abandon their wives and children and return to their homes when hatching or brooding, so this fierce pigeon can only kill its love for the nest in time. 1-2 years, pigeons will be kept with each friend for a period of time. Of course, it is not always kept for nothing, but during its idle period, there will be about 3-4 times, and the pigeon will have a vague memory of its initial wishes. Finally, get the pigeon house ready to check in, occasionally wrap it up and put it outside to familiarize yourself with the situation. Pay attention to regular movements or sounds to let it know the information of eating. Finally, it is best to breed young pigeons 15 days or so, and not to be slaughtered for about half a month. When molting, its main feather will be cut off from the eighth root below to the second root above, so that it can molt naturally. After the main feather is changed, it will be familiar with its new home. Old pigeons, that is, pigeons aged 5- 10. Some friends may think that pigeons are easy to open homes when they are old, but they can't fly. Where else can they go? That makes sense. But the pigeon is old, we don't have to worry about whether it will return to its original home, but whether it can return to its present home. Sometimes, when encountering unexpected situations such as fright, pigeons will be frightened and fly, but they want to come back, but they are unable to do so. I once had a female breeder in the original house in Wilrich, Germany in 1996. In 2006, I plan to open a pigeon breeding house for ten years. After I started to put them in the shed, the pigeons showed aging and stupidity and refused to fly. However, when they were disturbed by the outside world, they took off strongly and never came back. A year later, I saw it in a friend's shed. In fact, pigeons at this time have no love for the original pigeon house at all, and it has become a habit to settle down at that stage when they are full. Therefore, when opening an old pigeon house, we must pay attention to the time, preferably later, to avoid external interference, or cut off its main feathers so that it can't fly at all, even if it is frightened, it can only land near the house. This is just my own experimental results, for reference only, depending on the personal situation and the pigeon's own conditions!
