Only by knowing yourself can we know life.
Einstein, like many children, was a very naughty and playful child when he was a child, and he often mixed with some bad children.
His father is often worried about this, and he wants to find a way to make Einstein learn.
Until Einstein 16 years old that autumn, one morning, his father stopped Einstein who was about to go fishing by the river and told him a story that changed Einstein's life.
The story goes like this:
"Yesterday," Einstein's father said, "our neighbor Uncle John and I went to clean a big chimney in the southern factory. The chimney can only go up if you step on the steel ladder inside. Your uncle John is in the front and I am in the back. We grabbed the handrail and climbed up step by step. When I came down, your uncle John was still in front and I was still behind him. Later, when I came out of the chimney, I found a strange thing: your uncle John's back and face were blackened by the soot in the chimney, but I didn't even have any soot on me. "
Einstein's father smiled and continued.
"I saw your uncle John and thought I must be dirty like a clown, so I went to the nearby river to wash and wash. And your uncle John, when he saw me coming out of the chimney, was clean. He thought he was as clean as me, so he washed his hands and walked into the street. As a result, everyone in the street laughed and hurt their stomachs. They think your uncle John is crazy. "
Einstein couldn't help laughing with his father.
Father finished laughing, solemnly said to him:
"In fact, no one can be your mirror, only yourself is your mirror. Taking others as a mirror, an idiot may also turn himself into a genius. "
Hearing this, Einstein suddenly looked ashamed.
From then on, Einstein left those naughty children. He always takes himself as a mirror to examine and reflect on himself, and finally reflects the brilliance of his life.
In front of an ancient temple in Delphi, ancient Greece, there is a stone tablet engraved with the words "Know yourself". Some people say that this is the famous saying of the great philosopher Socrates, while others say that this is the "Arabic Oracle" symbolizing the highest wisdom.
This sentence points out an unavoidable proposition in everyone's mind: know yourself.
Knowing yourself is the starting point of a person's mental health and happy life. If you want to have a happy life, you must know yourself correctly, so that you can play your role well and live a high mission and value.
Others can't reflect themselves, only themselves are the brightest mirrors.
Everyone's inner world has two mirrors, one looking at others and the other looking at himself. We should learn to reflect on ourselves and look at our hearts with our own mirrors every once in a while. This is an inevitable requirement for a successful life.
When we come to this world, everyone has his own role, responsibility and obligation, so each of us should keep in mind our mission, abandon our shortcomings, keep forging ahead and strive to be the best of ourselves.
