Chen Shu

The author of Chen Shu is also Yao Silian.

Liu Zhiji said in Shi Tong: "At the beginning of Chen, there were Wu Jungu and Fu Chuo in the north, each of whom wrote a bachelor's degree in history, and their martial arts and literature were all under Gu and Fu. At the beginning of Tai Jianchu, Lu Qiong and Zhong Shulang continued to write various articles, which hurt the bones and complicated things. Yao Cha added more and changed it, with details and clarity. " That is to say, before Yao fork compiled Chen Shu, Gu of Wu and Fu Chuo of the north wrote three volumes of Chen Shu respectively. In the early years of Tai Jian, Lu Qiong wrote 42 volumes of Chen Shu. It can be seen that Chen Shu written by Yao Cha is actually based on three schools. Yao Cha has greatly cut and sorted out the miscellaneous notes in Lu Qiong's book to make it more organized. However, Yao Cha died before the compilation was completed. Then, on the basis of his father's old manuscript, Yao Silian finished the book after rearranging and processing.

Chen Shu includes 6 biographies and 30 biographies, with a total of 36 volumes. From the first year (557) to the third year (589), the history of the five emperors of the Chen Dynasty was recorded for 33 years.

This edition of Chen Shu has 36 volumes. Only the biographies of Gao-zu and Sai-jo have the words "Yao Cha, the minister of Chen's official department" at the end of the volume, and the others are all titled "Mitchell". It may be that Yao Cha only wrote two volumes of Liang Shu, and the others were supplemented by Yao Silian. Therefore, in the "Biography" section, Chen Shu is not as uneven as Liang Shu, and the style is more uniform if it is compiled by one person. Therefore, Liu Zhiji said in "Shi Tong": "At the beginning of Zhenguan, I gave a letter to Silian, which was written in two histories and completed in nine years."

In Chen Shu's Biography of Yao Tea, the life, deeds, court approval and celebrity praise of Yao Tea are recorded. Therefore, the Summary of Siku said: "Cha Chen died in the Sui Dynasty. As a minister, Cheng was the founding father of Beijiang County. At the same time, General Manager Jiang and Yuan Xian invited him to enter the DPRK, and kowtowed to the new dynasty to practice the rank of China. However, he was still listed in the book of history, taking history as an example, which lost its limit! Who is Manager Jiang? It is combined with his father's biography, especially self-dyeing. His book records the date and year, and sometimes there are some shortcomings, which can be said to be the fault of this book. The rest of the ears have their own opinions, so they are ridiculous. "

Chen Shu is a record of Yao Silian's own history, so it has many taboos and ignores some specific historical facts to achieve the purpose of "defense". For example, in the Chronicle of the Emperor Gaozu, we can't see any signs that Chen Baxian seized the Liang regime. Liu was ordered to assassinate Liang, which was not mentioned in Liu Chuan. Instead, he answered with Liu's Shensi. Another example is Chen Chang, the son of Gaozu, who was once trapped in Zhoudi and could not return in time. When his nephew Chen Gang ascended the throne, Chen Caichang escaped. On the way back, Chen Chang, the sai-jo of the emperor's throne, worried that it would pose a threat to his position, sent a man named Hou Andu to intercept Chen Chang and drown him in the river. However, such an important historical event was not recorded in Ancestral Family, but simply recorded that Chen Chang had passed away. There is no record of Chen Chang's murder in Biography of Chen Changchuan and Biography of Hou Andu at all, which shows the seriousness of concealing the truth. The specific reason may also be that Chen Shu was originally written by Yao Cha, the father of Yao Silian, who was once the minister of Chen. Therefore, because of his father, Yao Silian dared not modify it without authorization.

The literary value of Chen Shu is better than Song Shu and Shu Qi, and its historical value lies in recording some historical materials that are on the verge of being lost, which has the merit of recording.
