My hometown Kunshan City is not only an emerging industrial city with developed economy, but also an ancient water town with profound cultural heritage and long history.
It is said that Kunshan was inhabited by aborigines during the Neolithic Age! Its earliest name was Louyi. During the Spring and Autumn Period, King Wu came here to feed deer for hunting, so it was also called Lucheng. Later, the emperor of the Southern Dynasties officially named it Kunshan.
Since Kunshan has a long history, there must be many places of interest. When talking about places of interest, Tinglin Park has to be mentioned. The Yufeng Mountain in the garden is "hundreds of miles away, but one peak is unique and beautiful". On the top of the mountain, there is the Wenbi Peak commemorating Wei Jing, the first number one scholar in Kunshan during the Southern Song Dynasty, standing on the Ziyun Rock. Halfway up the mountain, there is the Linji Pavilion with handwritten couplets written by Lin Zexu. At the foot of the mountain There is a statue of Gu Yanwu, a literary master of the generation. His famous saying "Every man is responsible for the rise and fall of the world" has inspired generations of Chinese to strive for the prosperity of the motherland. There is also a Kunqu Opera Museum in the park, where you can appreciate its unique cultural and artistic atmosphere. There are also the Qionghua, which is pure and elegant, with a refreshing fragrance, and the crystal white, exquisite and clear Kunshi, which is high in the sky.
In addition to the Tinglin Park that makes people forget to leave, Kunshan’s Zhouzhuang, Qiandeng, and Jinshan Xidu was selected as a national historical and cultural town. Among them, Zhouzhuang, an ancient town, is famous at home and abroad as "China's No. 1 Water Town", attracting more than 2.5 million tourists every year.
Accompanying these scenic spots and historic sites are modern industrial urban areas, with high-speed rail and highways extending in all directions. High-tech factories are surrounded by green trees and lawns. There are no chimneys emitting black smoke or flowing water. Rivers of sewage. "Green oxygen bars" such as forest parks and ecological parks have also been built.
This is Kunshan, a city with a long history and culture and beautiful and charming scenery. I love my hometown.
