In the prequel of "Happy Comedian", Shen Teng once expressed that he wanted to get rid of the image of "Hao Jian". I have to say that Yi Nian Silence in Paradise is indeed an anti-"Hao Jian" type of character. No longer do ordinary citizens yearn for the happiness of ordinary life, and no longer worry about the trivial things in life. Instead, he became a lurker who punishes evil and promotes good, and fights crime, a two-faced man with a story.
This is not Shen Teng’s first attempt. In the few "Happy Comedians" I have seen, Shen Teng's conception of his work and positioning of his role are completely different from "Hao Jian" or "Charlotte". It is true that the ideas in the Spring Festival Gala works are by no means decided by him unilaterally, and the plot of Charlotte's troubles was also conceived by Peng Damo and Yan Fei. Therefore, Shen Teng did not fully demonstrate his own comedy concepts within the scope of public visibility. More of his ideas and more of his intentions were drowned in those famous works.
So in "Happy Comedian", Shen Teng is trying to show his ideas and thoughts about comedy. There are wonderful anti-war and anti-heroes in it. There is also a time travel where the couple is rushing to work and the couple is jealous. And this time, "One Thought of Heaven", I think is Shen Teng's innermost voice. I have always felt that Shen Teng and Xu Zheng are very similar. They are comedians with unique ideas and their own voices. They have ambitions and dreams, and want to make changes to China's comedy industry through their own strength. They are willing to speak up and have the courage to try. "Hong Kong" by Xu Zheng is an attempt, and Shen Teng's "One Thought in Paradise" is also an attempt. And I think that "One Thought in Heaven" will fail at the box office, not just because there is no big promotion and big production of "囧", but the main reason is that the work is not well polished, the bones are still there, and the flesh is separated.
