Heaven is humanity, and tolerance has made great changes, improved interpersonal relationships and made heroic achievements.
Tolerance is a kind of tolerance and wisdom. As the old saying goes, "A general can run like a horse on his forehead, and a prime minister can sail in his stomach. How big is a person's heart, how big is his career. Bao knew the value of talents, let bygones be bygones, and tolerated Guan Zhong's revenge. Lin Xiangru understood the importance of cooperation, avoided it three times and tolerated Lian Po's blatant provocation; Zhuge Liang skillfully used the strategy of softening, and captured seven times, which implied Meng Huo's never giving up. Li Shimin kept in mind the lessons of the demise of the Sui Dynasty, learned from them and tolerated Wei Zhi's outspoken criticism ..., which made them brilliant and promoted the development of human history.
Tolerance is a kind of cultivation and a realm. Lin Qingxuan, a writer from Taiwan Province Province, tells an inclusive story in the article "Sending the Moon". The original text is as follows:
A Zen master lived in a hut in the mountains. One night, he went for a walk in the forest. In the bright moonlight, he suddenly realized his cosmic nature. He walked back to his residence in high spirits and saw a thief patronizing his cabin. The thief who couldn't find anything saw the Zen master when he left. It turned out that the Zen master had been waiting outside the door for fear of disturbing the thief. He knew that the thief would not find anything. He had taken off his coat and held it in his hand.
The thief was surprised when he met the Zen master. The Zen master said, "You came all the way to see me, but you can't go home empty-handed. It's cold at night, take this dress and leave. " As he spoke, he dressed the thief, who was at a loss and bowed his head and slipped away.
The Zen master watched the thief's back pass through the bright moonlight and disappear into the mountains. He couldn't help but say with emotion, "poor man, I wish I could send him a bright moon." The Zen master watched the thief leave, went back to the hut to meditate naked and entered the settlement.
The next day, moved by the warm sunshine, he opened his eyes from deep meditation and saw the coat put on by the thief, neatly folded and placed at the door. He muttered happily, "I finally gave him a bright moon." 」
Coincidentally, Master Taiwan Province Xingyun also told an inclusive story in his book The Wisdom of Tolerance:
One day, in the meditation hall, a thief was suddenly found. In such a quiet place, it was unforgivable, and everyone knew who it was, so Qi Xin asked the master to expel the thief. The big monk listened: Oh, oh, oh.
The monk did not set out to deal with this matter. After a period of time, the thief felt that there was nothing wrong with the first time, and the second time came again, and everyone was even more unbearable. Ask the master to drive him away. Hearing this, the big monk still said: Oh, oh, oh.
Actually, I didn't kick him out. By the third time, the thief committed another crime, and everyone could not forgive him. They demanded that if the thief was not driven out of the quiet meditation hall, everyone should leave and not participate in meditation. Hearing this, the big monk said, "You all go, and the thief stays." Why? He said, "You are all very healthy people. After you left, people wanted you everywhere. After all, the thief is mentally and physically ill. If I ask him to go, where can he go? " My meditation hall is the tame field of Buddhist compassion. I can't stand him. Where can I tolerate him in this world? Hearing this, the thief felt ashamed. He thought he was wrong, so he stopped stealing, turned over a new leaf and turned over a new leaf.
Gilbert, a famous Lebanese poet, once said, "A great man has two hearts: one is bleeding; One heart and one mind. " Confucius said, "Be lenient with others and get more people"; The Buddhist scriptures say "the difference between one thought and another". As the saying goes, "gold is not enough, and no one is perfect." If you are worried about other people's mistakes, you have to pay back the money, which will only bring a heavy mental burden. Instead of letting hatred bite the soul and be miserable, it is better to get a kind of self-release and calmness with tolerance. However, tolerance is not to cover up others' mistakes, not to condone others' mistakes, but to let others correct them better. "Sometimes the moral shock brought by tolerance is stronger than punishment", which is a famous saying of the former Soviet educator Suhomlinski.
The famous French poet Hugo said: "The ocean is the widest in the world, the sky is wider than the ocean, and the human mind is wider than the sky. Facts have proved that only a wise man with a keen insight into human nature, a broad mind and compassion can, like Maitreya, "tolerate things that are intolerable in the world;" "I often laugh when I open my mouth and laugh at ridiculous people in the world." With a broad mind, you are tolerant.
The sea has not only clean water, but also polluted water, which makes it boundless; The bright moon shines not only on misty mountains and rivers, but also on the vast earth, and only Yuyu can be clear on earth; One should tolerate the good and the bad; Only by tolerating yourself, others and the world can we achieve a happy life.
