Xie Chaoxiao said that the previous education in China paid great attention to the integration of arts and sciences, and the all-round development of talents was the keynote of education in China. However, due to the need for a large number of professionals in the stage of social development, there has been a division of arts and sciences. Now that the economy has developed, the country has begun to attach importance to the integration of arts and sciences. Xie believes that according to the actual situation of high school education, there are advantages and disadvantages in not separating arts and sciences. The advantage is that students can develop in an all-round way. The disadvantage is that students have limited energy and it is difficult to take care of so many courses in an all-round way. Nevertheless, Xie still believes that it is the way to go and the development direction of quality education if senior high schools do not separate arts and sciences.
Xie believes that the disadvantages of non-separation of arts and sciences can be solved through curriculum reform. Xie Chaoxiao said: "It is necessary to carry out corresponding curriculum reforms, such as simplifying and deleting courses, to cultivate students' hands-on and practical ability. "
The division of any subject is not conducive to teaching.

What bothers Liu Tianxi most is to give physics lessons to students in liberal arts classes, because liberal arts students are too unfamiliar with science knowledge and thinking mode. Regarding the attitude of "no distinction between arts and sciences in high school", he said that this is the way education should take, which is not only beneficial to students' learning and long-term development, but also beneficial to teachers' teaching work. Liu Tianxi has been engaged in teaching for many years. He told reporters with deep experience: "The division of arts and sciences can make students no longer be partial to subjects, and everyone can become a generalist. All-round development is a good thing for students. For teachers, whether they are university teachers or middle school teachers, in the process of teaching, they will always realize that students with partial subjects are not easy to teach, and students with all-round development can draw inferences. " However, Liu Tianxi also looks at this problem from the perspective of students. He believes that under the current college entrance examination system, most students already feel that their study time and energy are limited in the case of dividing subjects. If arts and sciences are to be merged, students will suddenly add many courses. The education department should consider the reform of the college entrance examination system, and suggest that the college entrance examination can be combined with reality, with more comprehensive and practical topics.

Yang believes that the division of arts and sciences in senior high schools cannot be analyzed simply from good or bad. In the long run, he is in favor of abolishing the separation of arts and sciences, but under the current situation, "one size fits all" will cause many problems.
Yang said that exam-oriented education is becoming more and more fierce, and the education administrative department has been issuing documents to reduce the burden on students, but in fact, the concept of exam-oriented education is difficult to reverse for a while. Judging from the current situation, with the current college entrance examination framework and the difficulty of high school teaching, if the division of arts and sciences is cancelled immediately, it will be beneficial to students with good science. Because it is not too difficult for students with good science to learn liberal arts well, but for students with good liberal arts but poor science, they will suffer a lot. This is a seemingly visible result. From a deeper level, the theory of multiple intelligences is advocated now, which is also the theory of quality education. In other words, acknowledge the differences between people. For example, a person engaged in scientific research may be weak in comics, while a person engaged in comics may be weak in scientific research. The so-called "360 lines, each line is the best" is the truth. If we cancel the division of arts and sciences now, will it be beneficial to the realization of the theory of multiple intelligences? This needs to be studied.
So when is it appropriate to cancel the liberal arts division in high school? Yang believes that this involves the reform from primary school to junior high school, high school and even the college entrance examination. Reduce the difficulty of college entrance examination and the knowledge requirements and standards of high school to a suitable and healthy position, balance the development of students from primary school, and realize the division of arts and sciences in high school. Yang believes that what the education administrative department should do now is to carry out the teaching reform from primary school to middle school to the end, set short-term and medium-term goals, and cultivate students' all-round development, both ability and political integrity, and be in a harmonious state in this process. If this process is completed, it will be easy to cancel the liberal arts division in senior high school in the long run. Otherwise, canceling the division of subjects now will not solve the deep-seated problems in current education.
