"Compassion is the purpose of benevolence; The heart of shame and evil, the end of righteousness; The words of the heart are the end of the ceremony; The heart of right and wrong is also the end of wisdom. " Mencius' four-terminal theory is the basis of his theory of good nature and all Mencius' theories. It is human nature to see a willing son go down into the well, which will lead to compassion, so everyone has a clue of benevolence, which is also the same as courtesy, righteousness and wisdom. It is precisely because people have such clues that human nature is good. It is precisely because human nature is good that the effort of cultivation is to seek inner goodness. As long as you dig out the clues of benevolence in your heart, benevolence will come. "There is no other way to learn, just asking for it." Compared with Confucius, Mencius' theory has developed to a quite harmonious degree, and various arguments complement each other, which are the basis and conclusion of each other. Mencius' theory of "four meetings" is the theoretical basis of all Mencius' theories.
