Jiao Wei is a famous piano created by Cai Yong, also known as Burning Flute and Pipa.
According to the Book of the Later Han Dynasty? The Biography of Cai Yong records that Wu people only know their good wood when they hear the sound of fierce fire. Because of the invitation, they were cut into a piano. The fruit was beautiful, but its tail disturbed the focus, so they were called "Wei Jiaoqin".
It records that Cai Yong rescued an unfinished phoenix tree with abnormal sound in the fire when he was "desperate for rivers and seas, far away from Wuhui". According to the length and shape of wood, he made an ancient piano with extraordinary sound. Because there are still burnt marks at the end of the piano, it is named "Jiaowei", which is famous for its sweet timbre and unique production method.
At the end of the Han Dynasty, after Cai Yong was killed, the "copulating" piano was still well preserved in the Royal Library.
According to legend, more than 300 years later, when Emperor Qi Ming was in power, in order to appreciate the piano skills of Wang Cuoxiong, a master of guqin, he ordered people to take out the "mating" piano that had been stored for years and play it for Wang Cuoxiong.
Wang Zhongxiong played for five days in a row, improvising "Hate Song" for Ming Di.
Wang Fengnian, a native of Kunshan in the Ming Dynasty, still collects the "mating" piano made in Cai Yong.
Cai Yong's knowledge of taking wood as a piano also made us understand that everything has its uses. The same piece of wood has different uses in different people's eyes. Only by giving full play to its talents can it play its greatest role.
