Kathy Carlisle (michelle trachtenberg) presided over the production of a young and talented 17-year-old woman who is both an athlete and an intellectual. She has contradictions. Her mother, Mrs. Carrier (joan cusack), teaches at a local university in Connecticut. She knows very well that her daughter is a physics freak, and she is a straight A in a subject that everyone I know is lucky enough to get a C. She has a chance to get a full scholarship to Harvard with her brain, but her mother's dream is not Kathy's. Kathy, who is graceful and highly plastic, is not only an excellent figure skater, but also an up-and-coming physicist. She wants to postpone her physical ambition and train for the 2006 Olympic Games. This conflict provides most of the tension in this G-rated film, and the target audience of this film is girls between the ages of 10 and 18.

Although the audience of "Ice Princess" is assumed, Fywell's feature films, no matter how formulaic, can find paying people of any age and gender, mainly because the acting is so good, and even more importantly, because the characters are drawn in gray instead of black or white. No one in the story is all bad. Although there are no villains, every character has defects.

Kathy's problem is that she spends too much energy dealing with her conflict. Although she is about to graduate from high school, she is still a good girl of her mother, always on the verge of giving up her dream, for the simple reason that her mother insists that figure skaters only have an eight-year shelf life. The weakness of Mrs. Carlyle E is that although she recognizes and praises her daughter's achievements in science, she turns a deaf ear to Kathy's own wishes, so that she doesn't attend the young lady's training course and seems to deliberately ignore Kathy's performance in a crucial competition. Tina Harewood (kim cattrall) is Kathy's coach and an excellent coach. She insists that her students line up at the skating rink at 5:30 every morning, which is the opposite of Mrs. Carlisle. She forces her daughter Gen (Hayden Panettiere) to practice on the skating rink, and turns a deaf ear to the suggestion that the girl wants to be an ordinary teenager who is eager to give up skating completely. For her, Gen was hostile to Casey at first because they were all retraining for the same sport, but in the course of the story, she learned to appreciate her opponent's talents and became her best friend.

Most of us in the audience may not understand the competitive world of skating, and think that ice is only for athletes, especially those from Canada, who like to push ice hockey on the court and fight with their opponents. We have not only adapted to the world, but also seen many examples of this sport. A competitive skater like Jocelyn Lai, a Korean-American, whose father (Paul Sun- Hyung Lee) works two jobs to further realize his daughter's ambition, doing triple, deep bending, spinning and anything else, which deeply impressed the judges. They rated every second of each athlete, as if.
