Ask yourself by asking others' standards, and then there will be fewer mistakes; Forgive others by your own standards, and then the people you associate with will be very comprehensive.
Original text:
If you blame yourself with the heart of others, then you are too little; Forgive others with the heart of forgiving others, and you will give it all. Those who complain about others don't pay in full, and those who forgive themselves don't make up. Conceited people lose, conceited people are stupid, and thieves are harmful. It is better to be silent than to profit from talking more. Courtesy, honesty and shame, self-discipline, but not arresting people. Too little self-discipline, too few people, too little is not the way to get involved in the world. Therefore, a gentleman blames himself, while a villain blames others.
Vernacular translation:
Ask yourself by asking others' standards, and then there will be fewer mistakes; Forgive others by your own standards, and then the people you associate with will be very comprehensive. It is difficult for people who like to blame others to keep friendship with others, and those who often forgive their mistakes can never correct them. Conceited people are bound to fail, boastful people are stupid and ridiculous, and self-destructive people are bound to harm others and themselves. It is better to talk more and get more benefits than to be silent and not hurt.
Courtesy, righteousness, honesty and shame can be used to demand themselves, but not others. Asking yourself to make fewer mistakes, it is difficult to ask others to get along with others, and it is not in line with the lifestyle of getting along with others. Therefore, the gentleman is only strict with himself, and the villain complains about others.

Extended data writing background:
Worry-free record is one of the series of old people's words. The Old Man's Quotations series includes Lin Bu, a hermit in the Northern Song Dynasty, Qing Yan in Miluo Pavilion by Tu Long, a scholar in the Ming Dynasty, and You by Zhang Chao, a scholar in the Qing Dynasty. Stylistically, it takes the form of adding a title solution before each work, annotating the original text in sections and translating it today. The annotations should be accurate and the translation should be as fluent and vivid as possible.
These treasures in the book are better than old wine and last forever. I believe they can provide useful reference and enlightenment for people today in their cultivation and life. The so-called "old people's words" are, first, because the authors of these aphorisms are mostly people who have experienced the vicissitudes of the world, from the famous ministers and sages who fought against Guanhai to the hermits who are independent from the world;
There are talented pedants with good education and noble morality, as well as ill-fated and impoverished old curtain-goers. Second, from today's point of view, these aphorisms and aphorisms are the summary and sublimation of historical experience, and they are the precious cultural heritage and inculcation left by historical old people.

Lin Bu (967- 1028), whose real name was later called He Jing and Han nationality, was born in Huangxian Village, Dali, Fenghua, and was a famous recluse poet in the Northern Song Dynasty. When I was young, I was studious and familiar with hundreds of classics and history. The book is lonely and complacent, happy and indifferent, and does not seek glory and profit. When I grew up, I wandered between Jianghuai and later lived in seclusion in Hangzhou West Lake, and built a house in Gushan.

In the fifth year of Dazhong Xiangfu (10 12), Zhenzong heard its name, gave it to Su and Si, and asked the county magistrate to take care of it. Although I am grateful, I am not proud of it. Many people advised him to be an official, but they declined politely, saying, "However, my ambition is suitable, not for my family, not for fame and fortune, but for my feelings." Lin Bu has never been an official, never been married, and has no children. He only likes to grow plums and raise cranes, calling himself "plum as a wife and crane as a son" and "plum as a wife and crane as a son".
As an old man, he wrote a poem: "The green hills on the lake face to build a house, and the bamboo in front of the grave is sparse." Maoling changed its manuscript to another day, and I am still glad that there is no Zen book. " Poetry is discarded and never remains. Someone asked, "Why not record it for future generations?" A: "We have lost the trace of forests and valleys, and we don't want to be famous for poetry for the time being. What will happen to future generations? " There are more than 300 poems handed down from generation to generation.
