1. To be self-reliant, a man must be stubborn.

4. In an official's family, it is easy to change from frugality to luxury, but it is difficult to change from luxury to frugality.
5. Young people should be "ambitious, knowledgeable and persistent" when studying.
6. Only by using thunderbolt means can you first show the heart of a Bodhisattva.
7. Be quiet first, then think about it, and then do it with 50 or 60% certainty.
8. There are three things a scholar should not do: do not compete with gentlemen for fame, do not compete with villains for profit, and do not compete with heaven and earth for cleverness.
