Buffett's six investment suggestions in 215

1. Investing in index funds

In his letter to investors in 214, Buffett suggested investing in index funds.

my suggestion is to put 1% of cash into short-term treasury bonds, and the other 9% into low-cost S&P 5 index funds (such as Vanguard index funds). I believe that in the long run, this portfolio will outperform most market participants.

2. Stay away from Bitcoin

Buffett's most famous investment philosophy is not to buy companies that he doesn't understand, which leads him to miss the development of technology companies, including IBM. In an interview with CNBC, he said that bitcoin could not be regarded as an investment method at all.

stay away from bitcoin, I believe this thing is just a mirage. Bitcoin is just a way to transfer money, and it doesn't have any meaning in itself. We can totally find other substitutes. In my opinion, the intrinsic value of Bitcoin is almost zero, which is just a joke.

3. Learn to read financial statements

Tre Grinner, who suffers from Hodgkin lymphoma, obtained the internship qualification of Goldman Sachs with the help of the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and Buffett unexpectedly gave advice to Grinner in an interview with CNBC in August:

Learn as much as possible about accounting, accounting is the language of business activities. This is very helpful for you to read and understand financial statements. It may be difficult to read financial statements at first, but you will benefit a lot when you master them.

4. Focus on saving money, not getting rich overnight

Although Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway and Gilbert's Quicken Loans have partnered to provide a $1 billion prize for those who guess the outcome of all the NCAA matches in 214. (The probability is one in 92 billion)

But Buffett still warns everyone:

I think it is very important to cultivate the awareness of saving money as early as possible, and on this basis, we can consider how to make money as soon as possible. This is easier said than done. It is almost impossible to get rich overnight.

5. If the stock market falls, buy on dips and don't sell low

Also in an interview with CNBC, Buffett stressed:

I am willing to buy on dips, and the more I fall, the more I buy. If you tell me that the market will drop 5 points next week, then I will probably buy many stocks or related companies. I don't know what the market will do, but I know how to find undervalued companies and stocks.

6. Don't pretend to be an expert

If you don't know how to invest, you are actually gambling. You don't need to be an expert to get good returns in the investment field. But if you are not an expert, you'd better admit this fact. If some profits seem to be easy to get quickly, please say "no" directly.
