Classical poetry is the essence of language. It is concise, insightful, vivid and often striking in every word, leaving readers with a lot of room for imagination. Appreciating the language of poetry helps to understand the ideological content. The following is an ancient poem by Du Fu that I collected, "Wen Guan Jun Takes Henan and Hebei". Welcome to read.
Hearing that the army had taken over Henan and Hebei
Tang Dynasty: Du Fu
Suddenly it was said outside the sword that they had taken over Jibei. When I first heard about it, my clothes were filled with tears.
But seeing where his wife is worried, she fills the book with poetry and is filled with joy.
You have to indulge in alcohol while singing during the day, so you can return home with your youth.
That is, from Ba Gorge through Wu Gorge, then go down to Xiangyang towards Luoyang.
Translation
Outside Jianmen Pass, good news suddenly spread that the government troops had recovered the northern Hebei area. I was so happy that my clothes were filled with tears.
Looking back at my wife and children, I have swept away my worries and rolled up my poems and books. The whole family is overjoyed.
I want to drink and sing and go back to my hometown together.
My heart and soul had already soared, so I walked from Ba Gorge through Wu Gorge, then to Xiangyang and straight to Luoyang.
