Huqiu Mountain is located in the northwest corner of Suzhou ancient city. It has a long history of more than 2500 years, and has the reputation of "the first scene in Wuzhong" and "the first mountain in Wuzhong". Su Dongpo, a great poet in the Song Dynasty, wrote the famous sentence "If you don't visit the Tiger Hill or worship it, you owe it to Gusu".

Tiger Hill is famous for two scenic spots, one is Tiger Hill and the other is Sword Pool.

It is called sword pool for three reasons. First, if viewed from above, it looks like a flat sword. Another reason is that it is said that 3,000 ping Jian and fish intestines were given to He Lv, the king of Wu, hence the name. There is also a saying that both Qin Shihuang and Sun Quan came here to dig swords, and they dug the sword pool. In fact, the sword pool is naturally formed. Jianchi can be said to be the most mysterious place in Tiger Hill. It is said that the cave of Helv Tomb was opened here.

Geological, geomorphological and climatic characteristics of Huqiu Mountain

Huqiu Mountain is 34.3 meters above sea level and covers an area of 0. 19 square kilometers. The mountain is composed of Jurassic volcanic magma, and rocks such as Qianrenshi, Jianshi and Jianchi are rhyolite. Jurassic volcanic rocks are distributed under the Quaternary alluvium in the whole plain area in the east, north and west directions of Huqiu.

Huqiu Mountain Scenic Area belongs to subtropical monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons, mild climate and abundant rainfall. Annual average precipitation 1 100 mm, annual average temperature 15.7℃, 1 monthly average temperature 2.5℃. The average temperature in July is 28 degrees Celsius.
