Bo Ya played the Qin, and Zhong Ziqi listened to him playing the Qin. When Boya was playing the piano, he was thinking about the mountains. Zhong Ziqi said, "You play so well, just like the towering Mount Tai." After a while, Boya thought about flowing water again, and Zhong Ziqi said, "You play so well." It's so good, just like the endless running water." After Zhong Ziqi died, Boya broke the strings of his qin and stopped playing the qin for the rest of his life, thinking that there was no one else in the world worth playing for.

Appreciation:
Life is short and good friends are hard to find; the clouds are thousands of miles away, and good stories last for thousands of years. The basis of true friendship is understanding. The most vivid and profound explanation of this aspect of Chinese culture is the story of Yu Boya and Zhong Ziqi. "Bo Ya Jue Xian" is an eternal model for making friends. He has been passed down to this day and has inspired people for a long time. It is this story that established the noble standards of interpersonal relationships and friendship of the Chinese nation.
Bo Ya's introduction:
Bo Ya, a senior official of the Jin State during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, was originally from Yingdu, Chu State (today's Jingzhou, Hubei Province). Boya was a famous luther player at that time. He was good at playing the lyre and had superb skills. He is both an expert piano player and a composer, and is respected as the "Piano Immortal". "Xunzi: Encouraging Learning" once said that "Bo Ya played the piano while the six horses raised their heads", which shows his superb playing skills.
"Lu's Spring and Autumn Annals·Original Flavor Chapter" records the story of Boya playing drum and harp and meeting a close friend, and Zhong Ziqi understanding the music of the harp and its music in high mountains and flowing water. "Qin Cao" records: Boya failed to learn the piano for three years, so his teacher Chenglian took him to Penglai Mountain in the East China Sea to listen to the surging sea water and the mournful sounds of birds, so he wrote "Darcissus Cao" based on his feelings. The qin music "High Mountain", "Flowing Water" and "Shuixian Cao" are all works by the legendary Boya.
Creative background:
Zhong Ziqi died of illness. Boya was extremely sad and thought that there would never be a close friend again in the world, and there would never be anyone in the world who could be as capable as Zhong Ziqi. Experience the artistic conception of his playing. So I smashed my favorite piano to pieces, broke the strings, and never played the piano again for the rest of my life.
Expression theme:
"Bo Ya Drum and Qin" describes the deep friendship between Yu Boya and Zhong Ziqi, the importance of love and meaning, and the phenomenon of the difficulty of finding a close friend.
Guqin Site:
There are currently two disputed sites about the Boya Guqin Site: One is the Boya Qin Platform (also known as the Guqin Platform) on the bank of Yuehu Lake in Hanyang District, Wuhan City ), and the other is the tuning port in Diaoguan Town, Shishou City. Hanyang Guqin Terrace was built in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. It was destroyed by artillery fire during the Anti-Japanese War and was rebuilt after liberation. The ancient Diaoxian Pavilion of Tiaoguan was built in the Song Dynasty. It was destroyed in the Republic of China due to disrepair and has not been restored since. Guqintai was first built in the Northern Song Dynasty and has been destroyed and rebuilt many times in the past dynasties. Most of the existing buildings were rebuilt after 1949. The newly built guqin platform is small in scale and has an exquisite layout. The main buildings are associated with courtyards, forest gardens, flower beds, and teahouses, with clear layers.
Enter the gate, the main building is a half-eaves hilltop-style palace with a building in front, three rooms wide, surrounded by corridors, brick and wood frame houses, glazed tile roofs, and exquisite colorful paintings. Magnificent. The four words "High Mountains and Flowing Waters" are written on the plaque under the eaves. The main building is a single-eaves resting on the top of a mountain, with a pavilion-style hall in front. In front of the hall is a white marble square stone platform, which is said to be the place where Boya played the piano. The word "Qintai" is said to have been written by Mi Fu, a famous calligrapher in the Northern Song Dynasty. There are also inscriptions such as "Yinxin Stone House", "Poems on Qintai", "Mountains and Flowing Waters" on the stele corridor and on the forehead of the house, all of which were written by famous calligraphers. The wall is also inlaid with a continuous relief sculpture of "Bo Ya dropped his qin to thank his bosom friend", which is vivid and impressive. The entire building complex is very exquisite and elegant, retaining the style of the ancient buildings. It is one of the key cultural relics protection units in Hubei Province and Wuhan City.
