Montaigne, a western philosopher, once warned us: "The hardest thing to learn in life is to know how to live this life naturally." It is an easy and difficult topic for everyone not to be tired of fame and fortune and naturally live a good life.
Many people living in cities always shout that they are too tired to live, with heavy work pressure, heavy life burden and complicated interpersonal communication. Why is this happening? This is precisely because many people can't let go of the heart of fame. Fame and fortune are our inner shackles. The more we look at them, the more shackles we will have, and the more difficult it is for us to break free. There is a proverb in Buddhism: "The sky is empty, the earth is empty, and life is in it;" The sun is also empty, and the moon is empty. Who does it work for? Gold is empty, and silver is empty. How can it ever be in your hands after death? My wife is empty, my son is empty, and I won't meet you on the road! The right is also empty, and the name is empty. In a blink of an eye, there is a letter in the wilderness. " Nothing is in our hands, because we are just passers-by in life and will return to the dust one day.
We are busy pursuing all kinds of temptations, including money, status and fame. In this temptation of "busy", we have already become slaves of fame and fortune without knowing it.
Zhuangzi was recommended to be an official. Zhuangzi, who is naturally free and doesn't like fetters, made such an analogy when he knew that he was not suitable for life in Vanity Fair.
Zhuangzi said, "Look at the cattle and horses in the ancestral temple that were used as tributes. When they were not slaughtered, they were dressed in gorgeous decorations and ate the best forage. It was indeed infinite scenery. But when I arrived at the ancestral temple and was slaughtered as a tribute, is it possible to return to my former free life? "
In real life, how many people, just like the cattle and horses in the ancestral temple mentioned by Zhuangzi, are immersed in vanity fair and enjoy gorgeous decoration and luxurious life, but they lose their freedom unconsciously, and even their lives are swallowed up by fame and fortune.
There is such a story in history, which coincides with the analogy made by Zhuangzi.
Li Si was the founding hero of the Qin Dynasty. He assisted Qin Shihuang to unify the six countries, establish the Qin Dynasty, and became the prime minister with his outstanding political vision and excellent ability. However, Reese pursued fame and fortune all his life. For the sake of fame and fortune, he colluded with eunuch Zhao Gao, killed childe Fu Su, and supported Hu Hai to become emperor.
In the process of blindly pursuing fame and fortune, Reese and Zhao Gao had conflicts, and were murdered by Zhao Gao, and the whole family was convicted. Before Reese was beheaded, he said to his son regretfully, "I wish I could go hunting in the mountains with you as before." The son who was about to be beheaded shed tears.
Sima Qian said, "All the hustle and bustle in the world is for profit, and all the bustle in the world is for profit." It is normal for people to live in the world and pursue fame and fortune. If a person wants to realize his own value and let more people know and respect it, such a "name" is what everyone needs; A person wants to accumulate wealth and change his own conditions and personal life through hard work. Such "profit" is what everyone naturally pursues. However, the most rare thing in everything is to grasp the line between pursuing the realization of the meaning of life and blindly indulging in fame and fortune. Don't let fame and fortune give birth to greed and eventually harm yourself.
fame and fortune are all dust. How many people have deserted their relatives and friends at any cost for fame and fortune, and only when they finally reached the peak of success did they feel that they were too high to be cold; How many people have been greedy for money by unscrupulous means for profit, but they are finally imprisoned; How many people framed Zhongliang for temporary gains and losses, and finally fell into an eternal infamy. Because of the excessive pursuit of fame and fortune, the happiness and happiness of life are lost. What happiness is there in such a life?
It is said that a fairy was saved by a farmer a long time ago. The immortal was very grateful. In order to repay the farmer for saving his life, he gave him a treasure. This treasure can produce a lot of gold, silver and jewels, but the condition is that it must be exchanged for its own life. The immortal repeatedly told the farmer not to exchange again and again, otherwise his life would be exhausted.
The farmer returned home and exchanged his ten-year life for the first batch of jewels. This turned him from a poor farmer into a first-class rich man in the town. But he was not satisfied. In order to make his life more luxurious and rich, he exchanged his life for wealth again and again.
Until one day, the immortal swam here again and saw a farmer with only one breath left under a big tree in the suburbs. I saw that he was so weak that he was dying, but he still clung to the treasure in his arms and refused to let go.
The immortal was very sad when he saw this scene. He walked up to the farmer and sighed, "You, you can't get rid of a greedy word until you die!"! Let it be, there are many people in this world who give their lives for money and die! "
In real life, there is no essential difference between what we do and what farmers do. We are all exchanging youth and life for wealth. Living a good life is our pursuit, but spending all our energy for money is not worth the candle. Because in addition to wealth, there are many important things in life, such as feelings, hobbies and pursuits ... * * * isomorphism has become our life, and blindly pursuing money will inevitably delay other aspects. The beauty of life lies in its richness, vastness and infinite possibilities. If the meaning of life is forgotten only by the word "fame and fortune", then such fame and fortune will become a sharp knife to destroy our lives.
When faced with the temptation of fame and fortune, only by peeling off the colorful and beautiful packaging of desire with a normal heart can we keep our hearts. "Caigen Tan" has such an incisive exposition on the "desire" of life: "Life is just tired of wanting words, just like a horse, listening to people; An eagle is a dog, and everything is flogged. If I am clear and indifferent, heaven and earth can't turn, and ghosts and gods can't serve me, and everything is just a matter of fact! " The so-called "one mind is clear", that is, with a quiet heart, look down on the gains and losses of fame and fortune, keep the most original needs and beauty of life, and let the impetuous heart calm down in the face of numerous temptations. Only in this way can we gain real happiness.
