Confucius once talked to his disciples about the courage to win in this world. He said, "If you know the poor, you will have a life. If you know the times, you will be brave as a saint."

There is a saying in the chapter Yao Ri of the Analects of Confucius: "If you don't know your fate, you don't think you are a gentleman". Destiny-both Taoism, which advocates birth, and Confucianism, which emphasizes entry into the WTO, regard it as the highest juexue. Confucius often said that "knowing the destiny at fifty" means years and half a hundred. After tasting all the sufferings, joys and sorrows in the world, he knew what to do and did not do it. At the same time, he advised everyone to know the destiny and act without taking risks.

"A gentleman is easy to wait for his life, but a villain is lucky to take risks." (Chapter 14 of the Doctrine of the Mean) says that most gentlemen who can achieve great things choose to be at ease and wait for the arrival of destiny; The villain, on the other hand, took the risk to seek non-profit and finally got nothing.

The reason why people are afraid in the face of difficulties is that they still want something extravagant and are afraid of losing it, and Confucius' good prescription for everyone is to learn to "listen to destiny as much as possible".

Although I worked hard, I didn't expect results. Although I worked hard and forgot to eat, I had long looked down on honor and disgrace and realized that the times made it wonderful.

A person with a strong heart is often a person with a distant mind. The reason why he can stand the temporary silence is that he is convinced that a just right time will always give him a bright future.

Jin Renjie, a Yuan Dynasty poet, wrote in the second compromise of the Sanqu Chasing Han Xin: "When the time comes, you should stop laughing, and Taigong will also be a fisherman." Among them, it was Jiang Taigong, the founding king of Qi State, who was fishing in Wangjiang for luck.

Unfortunately, luck doesn't change overnight. Most people often lose their inner tenacity in the long wait, and become worried and timid. Confucius famously said in The Analects of Confucius Zi Han: "When you are cold, you will know that pine and cypress will wither." His words are to warn the world that it is often the most difficult years, and you will know who is strong after patiently surviving.

In those years, Fan Zhongyan wrote the famous saying "Don't rejoice in things, don't grieve for yourself" in The Story of Yueyang Tower, and he was familiar with it. China people of all ages, who can be called open-minded and broad-minded, all have an indifferent state of mind. From Zhuangzi and Priscilla in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period to Tao Qian in Wei and Jin Dynasties, to Su Shi and Bai Juyi in Tang and Song Dynasties, and even to Hu Shi and Zhou Zuoren in modern times, their lives have more or less experienced dark clouds. However, it is this detachment that lights up the last candle in their lives.

When people live in the world, they can't pray that everything goes well, and the road is smooth. When you are walking among thorns, you are just exhausted. If you can't forget what Confucius said: "The real inner strength is not the courage to fight, but the courage of a saint who is not afraid of the times."
