If you don't look down on the fame and fortune in front of you, you won't have a clear ambition. If you can't study calmly and concentrate on it, you won't be able to achieve great goals. This is the same as the truth that "if you want to take it, you must follow it first" and "if you want to achieve your goal, you must take twists and turns first". Now, "indifference" and "tranquility" seek purity, and you don't want to do anything. Instead, you should learn from "Ming Zhi" and set up a lofty ambition. When the time is ripe, you can "go far" and do something with great vigour.
Indifference means looking down on fame and fortune.
Being clear-minded means showing a clear ambition.
Tranquility means making yourself calm and quiet, doing things
being far-reaching, that is, achieving a lofty goal
not pursuing fame and fortune, not being hypocritical, not flattering, and pursuing a quiet and comfortable life.
In the face of your true self, don't be violated by interests and so on.
Plain is true.
"Indifference" is an ancient Taoist thought, and Laozi once said that "indifference is the best, victory is not beautiful". Later generations have always inherited and appreciated this artistic conception of "peace of mind". For example, in the poem "Ask Qiu Guang", Bai Juyi said, "The mind and body turn to peace, and the smoke scene is indifferent". He reflects that the author has no distractions, and he is absorbed and comfortable, not limited to the long-term and broad realm of immediate gains and losses.
