About science:
After reading The Course of Science, I first understood the importance of understanding the history of scientific development. Understanding the history of science plays a particularly important role in the innovation of our scientific research work. Perhaps because of the cultural tradition, fractional education and skill-based education are still prevalent in China. A negative consequence of this kind of education is to cultivate many scientific myths and establish an incorrect scientific image.
the first is to make scientific theory static and rigid, the second is to sanctify and dogmatize scientific theory, the third is to make science technical, and the last is to make science practical and instrumental. In the face of new concepts, new terms, new formulas and new laws in textbooks, it is easy for people to gradually form such concepts and habits: this is the truth, learn it and remember it.
As time goes by, the historical and evolving scientific theory is sanctified and dogmatized. People don't know where this theory came from and why it is like this, but we still have to believe it is true. This dogmatic attitude is obviously incompatible with the scientific spirit and will seriously hinder the development of innovative work.
