In the second year of Qingli, they divided their troops into two groups to attack the Song Dynasty. The two armies met at Dingchuan Village, and the Song army was defeated. The Xixia soldiers took advantage of the victory to pursue the victory and sent their troops southward, causing shock to the government and the public. Fan Zhongyan, a direct bachelor of Longtuge and deputy envoy of Shaanxi economic strategy and pacification, only led 6,000 brave men to resist the enemy. Continuous fighting forced the Xixia army to retreat. After that, Fan Zhongyan built cities and trained troops, further stabilizing the border defense, so that the Xixia Kingdom did not dare to commit crimes again, and finally surrendered to the Northern Song Dynasty.

Fan Zhongyan studied hard since he was a child and passed the imperial examination. He became an official and participated in political affairs. In Chinese history, there are countless benevolent people with lofty ideals like Fan Zhongyan. Huo Qubing, a famous general in the Western Han Dynasty, had outstanding military exploits. However, Huo Qubing said: "The Huns are not destroyed, so why do we have a family?" Du Fu, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, lived an almost impoverished life. The thatched hut was destroyed by the autumn wind, but what he thought of was other people: "There are tens of thousands of mansions, which can shelter all the poor people in the world with joy." Lu You, a poet of the Southern Song Dynasty, devoted his whole life to regaining the lost land and reorganizing the mountains and rivers: "I dare not forget to worry about the country despite my humble position. The coffin must be closed before the matter is determined." ?It is this kind of elite of the Chinese nation who are rooted in the soil of the motherland and use their lifelong efforts to water the flowers of human civilization.

There is never a quiet time, but some people carry forward with a heavy load.
