He said: “It’s hard to describe. It’s the most powerful and strong Qi. Between heaven and earth. It is a combination of righteousness and Tao. It is what is born of righteousness and is not taken from the heart. Therefore, I say, Gaozi doesn't know the truth, so he should take it as an outsider. There must be something wrong, don't forget it, and don't help it. It's not like the people of the Song Dynasty. He said to him: "I am sick today, I will help the seedlings to grow." His sons are looking at them, but the seedlings are dying. There are only a few people in the world who don't help the seedlings and abandon them because they think it is useless. He who helps the elders is also the one who pulls the seedlings. It is not only useless, but also harmful."

(Mencius) said: "I can understand the emotional tendencies shown in other people's words, and I am good at cultivating the aura of awe-inspiringness I possess."

(Mencius) said: "This is difficult to explain clearly. The aura of awe-inspiringness is the grandest and strongest. If you use justice to cultivate it and not use evil to harm it, you can Let it be filled with the aura of awe-inspiring and omnipresent in the world, and be assisted by benevolence, righteousness, and morality. If you don't do this, the aura of awe-inspiring will become weak and exhausted like a person without food. The aura of awe-inspiringness is formed by the long-term accumulation of justice in the heart. Obtain it through accidental acts of justice. If there is anything you can't feel at ease with, your aura will be exhausted. That's why I say that Gaozi never understood what righteousness is because he regards righteousness as something outside his heart. . You must have Jiyi in your heart and never forget it. Don’t use external force (against the rules) to help it grow. Don’t be like the people in Song Dynasty who were worried that their seedlings would not grow. The man came home tired and said to his family: "I am very tired today. I helped the seedlings grow taller." His son ran to the field to see that the seedlings had dried up. No one in the world makes this mistake. There are very few. Those who think that there is no use in maintaining crops and ignore them are those who do not weed the crops; those who help the crops grow are not only useless, but also destroy the crops. "
