Does Hailufeng area belong to Chaoshan area? Does Hailufeng area belong to Chaoshan area?
East Guangdong is mainly divided into two plates, Hailufeng area and Chaoshan area. The relationship between Shanwei City and Chaoshan City belongs to the typical "3+ 1" model, while Shanwei belongs to the embarrassing "1". Hailufeng area does not belong to Chaoshan area for the following reasons: 1. Geographical environment: The three cities of Chaoshan all belong to Hanjiang River Basin, with Shantou as the core and Jieyang Chaozhou as the two sides, forming a typical Chaoshan Delta, while Hailufeng is a relatively independent geographical unit, neither belonging to the Pearl River Delta nor the Chaoshan Triangle. 2. Humanistic characteristics: Although Hailufeng area and Chaoshan three cities belong to Minnan cultural circle, Fulao dialect, namely Minnan dialect, is popular in Hailufeng area; The three cities in Chaoshan mainly speak Chaoshan dialect represented by Shantou dialect. There is still a certain gap between the language customs of the two regions. 3. Historical origin: Hailufeng area has been under the jurisdiction of Huizhou since ancient times, and Boluo County was established in the Western Han Dynasty. Both land and sea are in Boluo county, not Jieyang county, which was established in the same period; Haifeng County was established in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, which governed the whole territory of Hailufeng and parts of Jieyang. Hailufeng has been under the jurisdiction of Huizhou since Sui and Tang Dynasties. Until a period of time after liberation, Hailufeng area was temporarily assigned to Shantou area, and 1983 was merged into Huiyang area again. Shanwei was established from Huizhou in 1988. So Shanwei does not belong to Chaoshan area.
