Seminar on "Random Talk on News Authenticity"
Gao Yan reports: In order to further improve our students' news awareness and enhance their knowledge of news theory. On the afternoon of May 2 1, Professor Wang Yuqi, Vice President of School of Humanities, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, was invited to give a special lecture entitled "Talking about the authenticity of news" in the multimedia classroom attached to the main teaching building of our school. Party Committee member, vice president, dean of humanities department, counselor, teacher Gong Lichun and more than 400 students attended the lecture.
Professor Wang first introduced his personal experience and social status to us simply and euphemistically, and led to the theme of the lecture-the authenticity of news by citing several fake news. Professor Wang discussed the authenticity of news from three aspects. First of all, he explained the connotation of news authenticity in detail, holding that "truth is the life of news, the essential feature and attribute of news", and listed several pairs of contradictions of news authenticity; Secondly, it tells the performance and reasons of news inaccuracy, which may be "making something out of nothing", "substituting flowers for trees", "reasonable imagination" and "director planning". The reasons include system, interests and journalists' quality; Finally, Professor Wang put forward some measures to prevent the news from being inaccurate, such as perfecting the laws and regulations of news communication, following the professional norms of news communication and improving the quality of public media. Before the end of the lecture, Professor Wang told the students a famous saying: "Writing articles skillfully and shouldering morality with iron shoulders". The whole lecture was novel and unique in content, humorous in language and rich in connotation, which benefited the students a lot.
Wang Yuqi, a native of Yugan, Jiangxi Province, is a doctor of literature, a postdoctoral fellow in applied economics, a young backbone teacher in colleges and universities in Jiangxi Province, and was promoted to professor in 2006. He has published more than 60 academic papers in Journalism University, China Radio and Television News, Contemporary Communication and other publications, presided over 3 provincial and ministerial-level topics, and written many works such as Research on the Transformation of China's Literary Communication Mode at the Turn of Modern Times, Newspaper Marketing Outline, Institutional Change and Mass Communication.
