Calisthenics originated in the late 1970s. The original English name is "Aerobics", which means "aerobic exercise" and "fitness and aerobics".
In the early 1980s, American fitness, film and television star Jane Fonda compiled and published "Jane Fonda Fitness Art" based on her own fitness experience in 1981, which caused a sensation in the world. It has played a positive role in development around the world. Aerobics was introduced to my country in the early 1980s.
The origin and development of international aerobics
The origin of aerobics can be traced back to more than two thousand years ago. The ancient Greeks were world-famous for their admiration for human body beauty. They like to use various sports such as running, jumping, throwing, calisthenics and bodybuilding dance to exercise their body beauty. Yoga has been practiced in ancient India for a long time, and some of its postures are consistent with the basic postures commonly used in popular aerobics. It can be seen that the pursuit of fitness and bodybuilding by ancient people is the basis for the formation and development of modern aerobics.
At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, many gymnastics schools emerged in Europe, and their theoretical and practical innovations contributed to the development of aerobics. In the early 1980s, with the development of fitness craze and entertainment sports all over the world, aerobics became popular all over the world with its strong vitality. The United States is a country that has an important influence on the development of aerobics in the world. Its representative, film and television star Jane Fonda, wrote the book "Jane Fonda Fitness Art" based on her own fitness experience and experience. Since its publication in 1981, the book has caused a sensation around the world. With her own experience, she promoted the promotion of aerobics around the world. At the same time, since 1985, the United States has officially held annual aerobics championships and determined competition items and rules, making aerobics a competitive sport.
Aerobics has not only developed rapidly in the United States, Britain, France and other countries, but has also been carried out to varying degrees in some developing countries and regions. The former Soviet Union had already included aerobics in the physical education syllabus of universities, middle schools and primary schools. In Asia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore and other countries also have many aerobics activity centers and fitness clubs. People have begun to use bodybuilding as their main fitness method, thus forming a worldwide "aerobics craze".
The rise and development of aerobics in my country
The worldwide aerobics craze spread to my country in the late 1970s. At that time, various aerobics training classes were held in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and other places. Subsequently, the introduction of various foreign aerobics through various news media gradually promoted the widespread development of aerobics in our country.
In 1984, the former Beijing Institute of Physical Education established an aerobics research group, and then the Shanghai Institute of Physical Education established an aerobics teaching and research office, taking the lead in offering aerobics courses. Some colleges and universities have also gradually opened general or elective courses in aerobics in accordance with the requirements of the National Education Commission for physical education in colleges and universities. This led to the introduction of aerobics in our country from society to schools.
From 1986 to 1988, fitness aerobics and competitive aerobics achieved rapid development in our country. Following my country's first "National Women's Aerobics Invitational" held in Guangzhou in April 1986, my country successfully held its first official competitive aerobics competition - the "Great Wall Cup" Aerobics Invitational - in Beijing in May 1987. In order to promote the development of aerobics among college students across the country in an organized and planned manner, the China University Student Sports Association Aerobics and Rhythmic Gymnastics Association was established in Beijing in February 1992. In September 1992, the Chinese Aerobics Association was officially established in Beijing, marking that my country's aerobics movement has entered a new stage of development.
