Let me tell you about my experience first.
I started practicing calligraphy when I was a freshman in high school. I practiced Pang Zhonghua’s regular script. My writing speed, which was fast in the past, became quite slow, and sometimes I couldn’t take notes. In my second year of high school, I practiced Pang Zhonghua’s Xingkai script, and there was almost no improvement in my writing speed alone. In other words, practicing calligraphy - no matter what font you practice, your writing speed will not increase.
Writing speed is developed by practicing writing, such as taking notes, and you can copy a lot of homework when you have nothing to do.
In addition, I think the handwriting calligraphers you mentioned are all good, but I think Tian Zhangying’s is better. But there is a saying called "Different paths lead to the same destination". I think that as long as you practice it well, the results will be similar. Also, practicing calligraphy requires some hard work. If you just follow the drawings on the copybooks, I'm sure it won't have much effect. Pang Zhonghua believes that practicing 3-5 characters every day is enough. My method is to only practice about ten characters a day. I practiced calligraphy whenever there was a blank space in my high school textbook. This method is not good. It is recommended that you spread a newspaper on your desk and write on it when you think of it (mainly copying according to the copybook). In less than a year or half a year, your handwriting can be enough to cope with the exam.
