Chen Xiangbai, nickname is Nianyi. His ancestral home is Guantang, Chaozhou. He was born in Hong Kong in October 1937. Later, he followed his parents back to Fucheng, Chaozhou to settle down. His father was Chen Liwu, a follower of Sun Yat-sen and the commander of the Fourth Army, and his sixth uncle was Chen Mianwu, the division commander of the Anti-Japanese Expeditionary Force. He inherited his family education when he was young, and later became a disciple of the calligrapher and painter Dian Jiemei, learning calligraphy and reading scriptures.
In 1958, he graduated from the second Matlosov class of Guangdong Hanshan Normal School. In the same year, he taught at Fengtang Shuhong Primary School in Chao'an County. In 1959, he taught at Helong Primary School in Chao'an County. In 1960, he taught at Fengtang Middle School in Chaoan County. In 1985, he served in the office of the Chaozhou Local Chronicles Compilation Committee. He was also a member of the Culture and History Committee of the Chaozhou CPPCC (4th and 5th session). In 1987, he was transferred to the professional cultural librarian of the Chaozhou Han Yu Memorial Hall. In 1989, he was transferred to Hanshan Normal College of Guangdong Province (today Hanshan Normal College) to engage in academic research and teaching. During this period, he was elected as a representative of the Ninth People's Congress of Guangdong Province. After the 1990s, he focused on Chinese tea culture and traveled all over the country and abroad, giving lectures and teaching tea art to apprentices. He is now the representative inheritor of Guangdong Province’s national intangible cultural heritage “Chaozhou Gongfu Tea Art”.

In "Documents", "Chinese Cultural Studies", "International Confucian Studies", "Confucius Studies", "Research on the History of Natural Sciences", "Southeastern Culture", "Reading", "Searching for Roots", "New Traditional Chinese Medicine" and "Chinese Tea People" More than 100 papers have been published in "Agricultural Archeology", "Guangming Daily", "People's Political Consultative Conference", as well as domestic and foreign academic newspapers and periodicals such as Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan; and more than 200 articles have been published in local newspapers and periodicals.

Over the years, he has won: the "First Batch of Special Contribution Gold Medal" of the World UNESCO, the first, second and third "Chao Xue Award" Research Excellence Award, and the "First Dragon Culture Gold Medal" of the International Yanhuang Culture Research Association ", "China's Famous Experts and Scholars" Golden Bauhinia Medal of Honor, "China's Highest Honor Award for Literature and Art of the Year" awarded by the China Literary and Art Association, the 2013 "Lu Yu Award" International Top Ten Outstanding Contribution Tea Award, the 13th "Lu Yu Award" It has won more than 60 awards, including the "Special Contribution Award to China's Tea Industry" and the "Earth Award" of the 3rd Chinese Tea People Spring Festival Gala.
