What is hanging is:
"Drink cold water in winter; cross a broken bridge at night. Swallow air with all your heart, endure bitterness and drink pain; endure cold and sweep snow, brave heat to put out fires. Do not wave a fan in summer , the rain does not hold an umbrella, the eternal spirit will last forever; the eternal spirit will be renewed day by day."
Whampoa Military Academy, in a narrow sense, was established by the Kuomintang on Changzhou Island, Huangpu District, Guangzhou, Guangdong from 1924 to 1930. A military school, the school was originally built on the grounds of the Qing Dynasty Army Primary School and Naval School. When the Kuomintang founded the school in 1924, it was named "Chinese Kuomintang Army Officer School". In 1926, it was renamed and expanded to "Central Military and Political School". In 1929, it was renamed "National Revolutionary Army Huangpu Officer School". In 1931, Nanjing The National Government restructured it into the "Central Army Officers School" and by the end of 1946 it was renamed the "Republic of China Army Officers School". In October 1950, the Taiwan authorities rebuilt the "Army Officer School" in Fengshan District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, and it continues to this day.
