Soft pen calligraphy is written as follows:
1. Writing posture
There are two main writing postures with a brush: one is the sitting posture, and the other is the standing posture. posture. The former is mainly used when writing characters with small font diameter and small-format works, while the latter is generally used when writing characters with larger font diameter and large-format works.
1. Open the arms. The key is to open the arms naturally and keep the angle between the big and small arms beyond 90°, so that the four joints of the fingers, wrists, elbows and shoulders can cooperate easily and harmoniously, and the body's strength can be smoothly transmitted to the pen tip;
2. Keep your body straight. To achieve the above requirements, you must sit as upright and upright as possible. The distance between your chest and the edge of the table is about 3 inches (adjust the distance appropriately according to the size of the words you are writing). Do not lean against the table or bend over;
3. Keep your head upright. The head is upright and slightly bent forward. It cannot be skewed to ensure a moderate viewing angle, and the distance between the eyes and the paper should be roughly kept at 30-40 cm. While pressing the paper with your left hand, adjust the position of the paper so that the words you are writing are always within the optimal range of your eyes and hands.
4. Foot safety. Keep your feet flat naturally and bend your legs flat. The feet are parallel or slightly forward and backward, and the legs cannot be crossed (commonly known as Erlang legs).
2. How to hold a pen
1. The ancients attached great importance to the method of holding a pen and believed that "anyone who learns calligraphy must first learn to hold a pen."
The ancients had many methods of holding pen, such as the tube twisting method, the tube holding method, the stirrup pulling method, the three-finger method, the five-finger method, etc. There are also different opinions on the tightness of the pen. Wang Xizhi advocated the importance of holding the pen tightly, and only by holding the pen tightly can the power be applied to the end of the pen. Su Dongpo advocated being empty and wide, that is, holding the pen loosely, so that it is easier to turn the pen barrel.
2. In fact, "tightness" and "looseness" are two contradictory aspects that are both opposite and unified.
The purpose of holding a pen is to move it well, so "tight" means to be able to control the tip of the pen well and prevent it from being slippery and weak. "Loose" means that the pen in the hand can operate flexibly and the tip of the pen can be used as desired. Only when the land changes can the words have charm. The scientific method of holding a pen can be summarized as follows: the penholder is vertical, the fingers are strong and the palms are empty, and the hand is relaxed naturally.
3. Finally, there is the issue of the writing position.
A brush, where is the right place to pinch it with your fingers? There is no absolute answer to this. The general principle is: when writing small characters and regular script, the writing position can be lower; when writing large characters or running or cursive script, the writing position can be higher, so that the pen tip can move widely and the strokes can flow flexibly.
