Various cultural schools provide self-evident value for the meaning of life, and conceive their own ideal social model, providing accessible ways and giving people hope and faith. These include the Christian theory that God created man and those who believe in God can enter the kingdom of heaven after death, the Buddhist theory of origin emptiness, karma and soul reincarnation, the Confucian social ideal of striving for perfection and self-cultivation, the recluse tendency of Taoism that conforms to nature and is pure and inaction, the principle of mutual change of Yin and Yang, and various theories and debates in modern times.
In my opinion, the Buddhist theory of karma can best explain this life problem. Whether chickens lay eggs or eggs lay chickens, they are all caused by karma, and the emergence of human beings is no exception. The same is true of people's spiritual attributes and thinking ability. Therefore, people living is a matter of coexistence of many factors, and life is a great harmony. Without a reason to live, there will be no life. Therefore, why people live can be answered as karma and harmony.
I think many people will not give up this huge life problem, because their psychological motivation to ask this question has not been appeased, so the ultimate meaning behind asking this question is serious, and they hope to get a serious explanation.
Socrates' famous words remind us that to live a meaningful life, the process from asking questions to being confused and then pursuing is very painful. However, Socrates also provides us with the answer, because an unexamined life is not worth living, which implies a meaning: meaning is given by people and value is created by people. Later, a philosopher said that "man is the measure of all things" also contains this meaning. The giving of meaning and the creation of value also conform to the theory of karma, and their respective karma is very different, and their respective life meanings are also different.
