Translation: Heaven and earth are the creation of all things. To establish a mind for heaven and earth means that scholars understand the principles of creation of all things and make the way of heaven manifest. Confucianism focuses on the state of existence. It does not talk about strange forces and chaos, but there are two levels of destiny and destiny. Now speaking, it is material and spiritual. From the material point of view, there is sufficient food and clothing, and spiritually, ethics and politics are the basis for the people to live in peace and contentment.

"Establish a heart for the heaven and earth, establish a destiny for the people, carry forward the unique knowledge for the saints, and create peace for all generations." This is a famous saying of Zhang Zai, a master of the Northern Song Dynasty. Contemporary philosopher Feng Youlan calls it the "Four Sentences of Hengqu". Because of its simplicity and grandeur, it has always been praised by people.

The content of Zhang Zai’s philosophical thoughts is very rich, and his contribution to the history of Chinese philosophy and the history of Guanzhong thought and culture is multi-faceted. It occupies a prominent position in the history of the development of Chinese academic thought, and has had a positive impact on the development of philosophical thought after the 11th century. .

Zhang Zai’s greatest influence on traditional culture was the founding of Guan Xue, which had a great influence on later generations of Confucian scholars. From the Northern Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, there were inheritors of the study in all dynasties. Among them, Lu Dajun, Lu Dalin, Su Bin, Fan Yu, Li Fu and others in the Song Dynasty played an important role in the formation and development of Guanxue.
