Make high vows, make mid-level connections, and enjoy low-level blessings;
Choose a high place to stand, find a flat place to live, and walk toward a wide place.
——The couplet hanging in Li Ka-shing’s office is a poem written by Zuo Zongtang, a Confucian general in the Qing Dynasty, in the Plum Garden in Wuxi, Jiangsu. These 24 words condense a profound philosophy of life: "Make high aspirations, make middle fate, and enjoy low blessings" means: have great ambitions, only seek middle fate, and live an ordinary life; "Choose a high place to stand and seek peace." "Live in a broad place and act in a wide-open place" means: you should look far-sighted when looking at problems, be low-key in life, and leave room for things to do. Look at the top, middle and bottom, and look at the height, flatness and width. When you are on the top, think of the bottom. When you stand high, look for the width. Therefore, no matter how complicated the contradictions are, we can deal with changes without being alarmed, and be able to avoid chaos when encountering dangers. We can both create and maintain a career.
