Today, when I went to my good friend's house, she showed me a beautiful album, Amber Curiosity. Curiously, I opened the album: golden and transparent amber is as beautiful and moving as the glow sprinkled on the water, and I was deeply attracted. According to the picture book, amber is a fossil of ancient resin. Resin is a kind of mucus oozing from the wounds of some plants, which plants use to protect their injured places. Resin is an organic compound. When the resin is covered by sediments, after millions of years of underground pressure, chemical reactions will occur inside, and organic molecules will further polymerize, lose chemical activity, become firm, and finally become amber. Amber often contains the remains of ancient insects, who were poor people who were unfortunately stuck in resin. But since then, their bodies have been closely protected by resin. Those poor people have a good side. Amber can make them live forever. In the crystal clear amber, all kinds of insects are still lying well. We can clearly see every hair on their bodies, and we can imagine how they struggled in the sticky turpentine at that time, which looked so lifelike. This is amber produced in Central and South America. 25 million years ago, two different kinds of small mosquitoes were trapped in cobwebs. Look! They seem to be still struggling there ... 25 million years ago, three ants hunted together and attacked mantis which was much bigger than them. It can be seen how long the history of Kunchong is! A mosquito couple are dancing, but unfortunately, they are both buried in resin. From then on, their love will never change. A moth mother was laying eggs there, and suddenly disaster fell from the sky, and a big drop of resin fell, covering her and her eggs. A piece of amber with a width of only 2.8 cm contains 62 complete and incomplete insects, including mosquitoes, ants, beetles, parasitic bees, termites, etc ... What a wonderful Hooper Zoo! The mosquito in this amber just sucked the blood of an animal before it died. Unfortunately, it doesn't suck the blood of dinosaurs, otherwise scientists can get dinosaur DNA from its cells. In an egg-sized amber, there are two frogs and a gecko. Careful observation revealed that one of the frogs had rotted before being "buried" by resin. Many fly larvae surround it. In the transparent amber, a little turtle lies quietly; Two small crabs are holding big claws, but they can't catch each other; A hardworking little bee is dedicated to collecting honey from flowers ... The valuable thing about these amber is that they not only contain insect records, but also faithfully record some scenes of insect life, which is really a rare treasure! Strange amber has brought so many beautiful images to people. The Greeks believed that amber was formed by the condensation of some fragments of the sun in the sea when it fell into the sea. According to Greek mythology, amber is made from the tears of Phaeton sisters. In fact, amber is neither a fragment of the sun nor a tear of the gods. This is a fossil of ancient resin. Ah! I marvel at the magic of nature!
