A Brief Introduction to the Content of Evil Son
Narrating in the first person, the novel focuses on a group of gay teenagers called "chicks" in Taipei New Park in the 1960s, and describes in detail their painful and tortuous mental journey and unknown life abandoned by society, family and relatives. The story focuses on the lives of this group of lower-class homosexuals, except homosexuals who are invisible from all walks of life. Through the gay songs such as the dragon and phoenix myths in the past, it reflects the marginal situation of gay groups being exiled by family, school, society and country around 1960, and shows the plight of homosexuals being exiled both physically and mentally.

The novel conveys the conflict between two generations because of same-sex lust, and looks forward to the sincere feelings of communication, understanding and social acceptance. As Bai Xianyong said, "Evil Son" is the first time that I deeply deal with China's parent-child relationship, and expand this relationship from family to society, raising the image of father to the level of patriarchal symbol. In Evil Son, I mainly write about the relationship between father and son, which is expanded into: the attitude and values of the father representing China society, and the attitude towards the next generation and gay children-the conflict between father and son is actually a conflict between individuals and society.
